My Fitbit is logging a different activity than what I choose. I keep choosing “Run” on the app for it to track my run and when I am done it logs it as “walk.”

@Nlenfert Like I wrote, this is an older feature, one that I needed for my Fitbit One and Charge HR. But your Inspire 2 has the Exercise app on the device. The Exercise app is the only way your run will get tracked as a run. I don't think Fitbit will fix this.

Hello @Nlenfert and welcome to the Community. It sounds like you are tapping on the green + sign, then Start exercise in the Track live section of the app. Fitbit calls this feature MobileRun. Other uses have mentioned this, so I tried it myself on my app. You don't say what model Fitbit you use, but you will get the results you want by using the Exercise app on your Fitbit device with the Run shortcut.
MobileRun is the only way for older models to track using GPS. Notice that the only options are walk, run, and hike. You don't get a heart rate graph in your exercise details when you use MobileRun, but you will get it when you use the Exercise app on your Fitbit.
This looks like a new bug, but I doubt that Fitbit will fix it. You have a better option on your Fitbit device. I don't understand why Fitbit put the Track live section in the top spot of that page. Likewise, you should never use the Start sleep option. That is for Fitbits that don't have heart rate monitors.

Thanks for the information. I have been using this feature for the past 2 years and it just recently started logging it incorrectly. I have had no issues in the past. I have the Inspire 2.

This is a real nuisance!! if someone finds a solution to this I would love to hear it!
Did the online chat and the suggestion was to turn my phone off, then on again, then log out of the app and back in again. It didn’t make the any difference. Was promised an email follow up, it didn’t come.
Also the miles are no longer shown on the maps. It’s a reduced quality product without the mile markers.
The quality of the app seems to be going down hill. Real shame.
