Fitbit not syncing yet again!

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

And here we go again! When will it be fixed?

I primarily use my Fitbit as a sleep monitor. Yesterday I had to input my data and it looks like I'm going to have to do it today too. My iPhone, iPad and Mac computer are not syncing with my Fitbit One yet another day. I refuse to have to restart my Fitbit on a daily, or twice daily, basis now with the last wonderful update. What bug fixes did it fix? My Fitbit was working just fine. This morning my iPad is showing the closest data to my Fitbit as far as steps are concerned. My iPhone is still syncing, which it has been doing for the last 30 minutes and still showing '0' steps and my computer hasn't synced since 11:58 last night. I know I'm not the only one with this issue. There is a problem! When is it going to be fixed!

Thank you for posting. I know we're not the only ones having this issue but so very few choose to raise the issue with Fitbit. I was able to do a sync over 1 hour ago when I came home from my walk and now all data is stuck at that point. My iPhone is trying to sync but all I get is 'Looking'!!!

Yes, it's me again and I will continue with the posts until this problem is resolved. According to my iPhone, iPad and computer, my Fitbit is still attempting to sync as of over 30 minutes ago and so far....NOTHING!

Fitbit techs.....restore the software from before the update and let everyone get back to using their Fitbits as they were originally designed to work. The latest update did nothing but cause problems for all users. Yes, you can restart your Fitbit One daily, and sometimes more than once or twice daily, and it works as it should however it only taxes the Fitbit One burning up the battery life in the process. My Fitbit One went from going 2-3 weeks without a charge to barely making it to 4 days with all the restarts I have done over the last 12 days. Admit that there is a problem and fix it or restore the previous software so all of us users can go back to using our Fitbits as they should be.

Well, after over an hour, my Fitbit One synced with my iPad and iPhone but still no Sleep data. I decided to try to enter start and end times for my sleep log using parameters outside of what my sleep thinking that I could fix it once the graph appears. No such luck! Yeah right....my sleep pattern will show up after I sync. I'm trying WITHOUT another Fitbit restart but to no avail. This is what appears:

No sleep sync yet againNo sleep sync yet again

I did contact them and during the first contact I was instructed on how to restart my Fitbit One....DUH! I had already done many MANY restarts at that point already.

On February 11th, I received an email from Fitbit stating:

"Reply to this email to let us know if we can further assist you in regards to your inquiry:"

I did TWICE and still no reply. So much for their support.

My Fitbit is functioning just fine however it's the multiple restarts that is killing it as  a result of the glitch from the latest update

Hello @zodybee

I'd like to take a look at what's going on. So that I can better understand the full situation I'd like to ask you a couple of questions:

  • Does any of the three devices (computer, iPad or iPhone) have an easier time syncing to your Fitbit One?
  • Have you tried turning the Bluetooth of the iPhone off whenever you sync to the iPad or the other way around?
  • Has it been 10 days from the first time you had syncing issues or from the last instance?

Look forward to your reply so that I can help you get this straightened out.

Bless you! I've been heard!

To answer your questions:

  • If I recall, maybe my iPhone had the easiest sync but any sync to my Fitbit takes several tries to actually link. Today however, there has been no sync at all and I haven't restarted my Fitbit. The poor thing is exhausted!
  • Yes, I've done the Bluetooth turn-off, power down of my iPhone, turn Bluetooth back and still nothing.
  • It's been 12 consecutive days that I've been having these problems. My Fitbit was working flawlessly up until the latest update. It's been reassuring to learn that I'm not the only one experiencing these issues and it's not related to Mac as PC users are having the same problems syncing.

I will keep my fingers crossed that you can resolve this issue. As mentioned in a previous posting, the reason for my Fitbit purchase in the first place was as a sleep monitor and it worked well until Feb 2nd. I enter all sleep data into a spreadsheet and bring to my doctor on a bi-monthly basis so he can monitor whether each routine he gives me is working or not. I have nothing for today. I was hoping that if I manually entered times it would allow me to see my actually sleep patterns and adjust my data according but I can't as I can't sync without yet another restart of my Fitbit and I'm done with that.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! I just checked my laptop and opened my Fitbit Dashboard and it synced with my Fitbit at that moment. I quickly ran to my iPhone and iPad and yes, all are in sync! What happened? If this has been fixed, many thanks. If this sync is an isolated occurence, then back to the drawing board. I will keep my fingers crossed that the glitch has finally been resolved

I was too quick in my response! I went for a 5K walk taking my iPhone with me. 3/4 of the way through my walk, it looks like my iphone stopped syncing again as it is stuck at 6702 steps whereas my Fitbit shows 7951 steps. When I got home I went to my laptop to check what the dashboard showed and found this:

It stopped syncing 23 minutes ago.

I found I was having issues with my iPhone syncing, I then found that having my iPad nearby was conflicting, both had Bluetooth on. I now make sure Bluetooth is off on iPad and had no issues since thankfully.

Tried turning Bluetooth off on my iPhone however when I tried to sync, I got the message 'Turn On Bluetooth to Allow Fitbit To Connect To Accessories. When I turn Bluetooth on with my iPhone it keeps searching and searching for a device. I NEVER had an issue prior to the Feb 2nd update. None whatsoever

My iPad and iPhone are usually on my kitchen table together and have always been for years. I tried turning off my bluetooth on my iPad but then I can't even attempt to sync with Fitbit.

Zodybee,

You are not alone. I am having the same issue. This is ridiculous. Where is the fix Fitbit. I have been giving you so much praise to my friends and family and now you are letting me down.

Are your dongles plugged in?

If they are have you moved it to a new USB port?

Yep. Dongle is always in the USB port and yes, I even tried switching it to the other port. It all worked perfectly for 12 hours yesterday without me doing anything. All of a sudden everything synced and kept syncing from about 1:30pm to 2:50am this morning. Now it's back to not syncing again with all devices showing different data.

All of a sudden yesterday for absolutely no reason at all, my Fitbit One started syncing perfectly as it was doing before the Feb 2nd update at approximately 1:30pm and continued to do so until 2:50am this morning which I noticed when I awoke today. All devices show the last sync to be at 2:50am and I'm back to where I was yesterday......another day of frustration. Strangely yesterday was the first day since the Feb 2nd update that I did NOT restart my Fitbit One. I also did NOT put my iPhone or computer or even Bluetooth through any restarts. I did nothing and it suddenly started working again. Back to square one again.

I know my posts are getting annoying to some users but what I've learned is that I'm not the only one with these issues. There are MANY of us experiencing the same problems and until they are resolved, I will continue to post. On the other hand, as soon as this problem is resolved and can be maintained for more than 13 hours, I will also post the good news. I'm much rather be posting this than constantly complaining.
