Fitbit registers walk despite turning the settings off

I have a Fitbit inspire 3 with iOS app since January and it worked fine until the new update in February 2025. I had chosen the settings to only register walks when they exceed 30 minutes, but now after the new update my Fitbit registers walking for e.g. only 10 minutes and logs it as exercise. I have tried to save different settings and turning the Fitbit off and on again, but it doesn't work. This is so annoying since I only want to use the exercise log for actual exercise, and not for walking to the supermarket... Has anyone had the same issue and how can it be resolved?

Hello @Eogr and welcome to the Community.  That firmware update added a new feature to your Inspire 3.  It will open the Exercise app when certain activities are detected.  This feature is different from the exercise auto recognition that you control in the Fitbit app.  It is available on six exercise shortcuts: walk, run, bike, elliptical, rowing, and spinning.

Please follow this path to turn it off for walking.  Swipe left/right on your Inspire 3 screen and open the Exercise app.  Select Walk.  Swipe up on the tiny “^” to get to the settings.  Look for Auto-start and toggle it off.  Turn it off in the other shortcuts, if you need to.
