Fitbit shut off after first charge.

I fully charged and synced my Fitbit when I received it as a birthday gift last week. Tonight charged it for only the 2nd time since receiving it and now it has gone black and won’t turn on : tried tapping it twice all over the face. Tried the side button no response at all. What do I do?

Let me help you with your Fitbit device screen not lighting up. You didn't specify which device you have but you can try restarting it by following these instructions.

I put the Fitbit back on my wrist after charging it - even though it appeared to be shut off and did not respond to any swiping, tapping or to squeezing the button. After about a half hour, it just suddenly turned back on by itself - so I guess the issue is resolved. But I wonder if that is normal?
