With activity tracking set to ten minutes, do I need to do something else to log FItstar exercise? Is there a difference in data collected by my Fitbit charge hr if I log in via Fitbit app or Fitstar app?

Not quite sure I understand your question. When I do Fitstar it logs it to fitbit no matter how long the exercise is. I have done 7 minutes ones and it gets logged when I'm done. Fitstar has nothing to do with the 10 Min Auto recognize feature.
