@Dino5171 welcome to the forums! Well yellow bars mean that you're under your calorie allotment, green means that you are just right and red means you have consumed more calories than required. More info can be found here.
Good luck and let me know if you have further inquiries!

I have the Alta, just got it about two weeks ago. Started using it to track my food also. I have a daily goal of 1350. On the dashboard on my phone it shows red bar, and I have consumed 1333, red on a day I consumed 1423 which is understandable. Green on 1314 and yellow on 1224. Why would it be red for unders consuming?

Hi there, @Coastmom welcome aboard to our Community. Let me step in and explain the colors of the food sections.
Note that Red is only when you are over budget of your calorie allowance and Yellow when you are under your budget. Green will let you know you are in the zone and you have reach your calorie allowance.
Nonetheless the calories of the food plan might fluctuate depending of how active you are. Note that if in the morning is not active due to the work or any other reason, your calorie allowance will be low and if you log more calories you might be over budget showing you the red meter but as your day goes and you are more active the calorie allowance will increase allowing to consume more calories and this convey your meter change either to green or yellow if you fall under budget.
This happen often if your food plan setting is set to "Personalized," which uses your past activity history to estimate your calorie burn for the day and increases or decreases that number if you're more or less active then usual throughout the day. If this fluctuation is disconcerting or disruptive to you, we suggest visiting your food plan and selecting "Set my own calorie target" to establish a permanent daily calorie goal.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions.
