Food calculated in steps and in calories

Hi Fitbit, I know the food menu entries have calories. I think we should include number of steps needed to burn the specific meal.

E.g. Pizza slice = 200 calories (According to the height and weight) keyed in by the user Fitbit should tell us how many steps it would take for me to burn off that pizza slice because after all its all about the steps.

Just thinking out loud. Hope its doable.

Hi, @Amad! It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how doable it would be, since a step is not exactly equivalent to a calorie. There are a lot of factors that play into the relationship, including speed, incline, etc, so it would be hard to give you an estimate of how many steps would burn off a given amount of calories.

Hi @MakMak, I agree it would be challenging. You're right to pint out the incline etc, but again I'm new to this so bare with me.......but Fitbit device calculates the incline and steps and then does the algorithms to calculate the calories burn't. In my opinion it would be a feature that many users would find a lot easy to relate to and help them commit to sticking to smarter choices. If some how Fitbit could manage it somehow - a lot of people would be able to relate to "If I eat one slice of pizza I would have to walk 900 steps more". Then depending on my schedule or time in the day I can make that informed decision whether I can afford to have that slice of pizza or not.

Fitbit has helped me not only lose weight but also make smart lifestyle choices which helps me and many around me with so many other things from work to personal lives etc. I hope Fitbit works on this project.
