Food entries disappearing immediately after entering them

I use the Fitbit app on an iPhone.  Every now and again when creating a custom food entry, I enter all the info to create the entry and then submit the information, I see the entry for maybe one second on my food log, but then it disappears.  I have tried saving the same food using a different name, but get the same result.  How do I stop entries disappearing?  (This is a very sporadic problem.  The vast majority of my custom entries are fine.)

Hello again @JustineTakahe

Have you tried using the online Dashboard to entry food entries as well and get the same results? You might like the layout better. Just a thought.

Hello @JustineTakahe

How very odd. Could it be that as your typing in your food entry that at that very moment your device/Fitbit did a sync and because you haven’t taped save yet it disappears as if it didn’t happen. Just a theory and a thought to ponder. (I suggest this because it’s sporadic)  If it persist it would hurt trying to log out of the Fitbit app, force shut the app by swiping up, then restart your device then log back into the Fitbit app and see if that resolves the issue.

😃 please keep me updated

It's not related to syncing, as I have tried the entries in question at various different times, including on different days.  I have now tried logging out of the app, force shutting the app by swiping up, then restarting my phone, but unfortunately get the same result.

Just in case it helps with this mystery:  In many cases where this happens, there are already some ''error'' entries for that food, i.e., I had entered it once on another occasion, but forgot to add the calories, so can't use that entry again (unless there's some way to change calories later that I don't know about).  But this isn't the case for all the entries for which I've had problems, as I've tried changing the food name (so that there are no corresponding ''error'' entries) but this doesn't solve it.

Problem solved.  I went to the Fitbit site on my laptop (instead of the Fitbit app on my phone) and selected "Favorites," then "Edit my food."  I then went through and deleted all the "error" entries (i.e., entries I had never used because I made an error when creating them).  After that, I closed and reopened the Fitbit application on my phone and I could enter the foods that were causing problems in the past.  Thanks so much for pointing me in right direction.  Much appreciated!
