Average steps per day for my profile and all friends is wrong.
It says the seven day total instead. Why?

Tap on the tile showing seven-day total, and it will switch to showing average.

What do you mean by "tap on the tile showing seven-day total..."
The friend screen does not have an option to change view.
What it should say: "Averages 13,113 steps per day"
What it says: "Averages 93,203 steps per day" which is the 7 day average.
This is on the friend profile page, and is a glitch.

Maybe IOS and Android apps are different on this. On my Android, I click 'Community' tab on bottom, then 'Friends' tab at top. It shows one tile for each friend: profile pic at left - beside pic is name above number which is weekly total steps; I tap that tile and it shows the user profile including "Averages xxxx steps per day'. Both numbers look reasonable.

@zaacckb My daughter showed me this new bug yesterday. The friend's profile is showing the seven day total, not the seven day average.
She asked me if I got a dog, because it said I was averaging 50,000 steps a day.
Not my kitchen
It looks correct today.
Please report back if your view is still incorrect.

The numbers still show the incorrect value for me, on iOS.
The dog picture/story was funny!

@zaacckb I am surprised that you are still seeing this. Mine was correct the next day. I haven't seen any other reports. My Fitbit app version is 3.21.
I usually recommend deleting the app, restarting your phone, then re-downloading the app. If that doesn't correct the problem, please us know what model iPhone you use and what version of iOS are you running. This information is always helpful when reporting a new bug.

Mine has had this issue for a while, which leads me to believe it is a glitch in the overall software and not just my device.
I did the steps that you have recommended and I have also attached a screenshot. My friend does not get an average of 116,000 steps per day.
I have tried this on two iOS devices, an iPhone XR and an iPhone SE, both on iOS 13.5, the latest version. This update was recent. The issue has been occurring for many versions back, so I highly doubt that it has something to do with my devices.
Thank you.

@zaacckb I am going to bump this up the chain to see if a moderator can help. I am also surprised at your comment that you have been experiencing this for some time. The reason I asked for the iPhone and iOS versions is that the moderators always do. I am constantly amazed that app updates affect some, but not all users. And that iOS updates affect some, but not all users.

Hello there @zaacckb, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for taking the time to troubleshoot it as suggested by @LZeeW and @JohnnyRow, and for the screenshot attached.
I did try what @JohnnyRow suggested here. And indeed, the first thing I saw when going to my Community Tab was the weekly average and not the average per day, though it got corrected after viewing my friend's profile. One thing I noticed is that this wasn't changing just for one of my friends, it kept me showing the weekly step average even after checking his profile. So I forced quit the app, went to my Fitbit app again, synced my Charge 3 right away and it showed me everything correctly afterwards. Have you noticed this is happening to you too with just one friend specifically? If so, try what I did and let me know if this keeps happening so I can reported to our team for further investigation.
Thanks for reporting this to us @LZeeW. 😊 I'm glad to hear that this only happened once to you.
I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

Hi there! Thank you for the response.
The issue only resides on the actual friend profile, the same page with three buttons to cheer, taunt or message. There is no issue on the "friends" page- that is all working just fine. The issue is shown clearly in the screenshot that I provided. This issue occurs randomly and does not occur with a set number or specific friend on Fitbit. I haven't discovered a clear pattern to this happening. It sometimes doesn't occur, but sometimes it is every friend I click on.
All devices are up to date, app versions installed, everything is perfect. I have replicated the issue on two separate devices, removed apps and reinstalled, pretty much everything suggested.
I hope that the information provided can help solve this issue. Thank you for your time and suggestions!😀

I’m having the same problem. Having a group/team is frustrating because oh this issue. Some members of the group is correct. Others not correct. Can Fitbit not get this resolved? Please help.

I have seen that in the past for me as well. However it usually corrects itself either after I restart the app. Or maybe it’s when the person syncs up again.
definitely a bug/glitch. Hopefully they can figure it out and fix.

Hmmm. I take that back. I saw a friends show the wrong number for a moment, then it corrected itself. However I look at mine today and.... wow 80+K a day... my legs are made of steel now. Lol

I am also experiencing this, it does appear to be a glitch as there have been short moment where it sees to correct itself to a daily average and then returns to the weekly amount again. Hope this gets fixed very soon!!
