Tried to synch... I keep getting the message "Your account is currently under maintenance, please come back later."

What does this mean, and why is it happening? I would like to be able to log my steps. I've restarting the app, but it doesn't help.

Hello @groundzero, I hope you're doing well, it's great to see you around the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for letting us know about this situation. We experienced a short outage yesterday, which might have caused the message to appear on your side. Tell me, were you able to log in to your account afterwards or are you still receiving the same message or any other? If so, please take a screenshot and reply to me with it so I can check this further.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting to hear from you.

I used to participate on the Discussion board, but that was back when the Fitbit app was useful and I spent more time checking my account. Now that the app doesn't show me what I need do know, I rarely check it. It's an OK pedometer, but nothing like it was when I first signed up.

I also feel frustrated that we have good features and Fitbit takes them away--so they're not new things that are difficult to develop, they're things that already exist--and when many, many people complain, Fitbit does it anyway and says they're always listening. Well, that's a bit disingenuous.

New users, of course, don't know that we used to be able to input body measurements, or that we used to be able to compare one day's stats to another day's stats, because all the stats moved together (as opposed to single tiles now), or that you used to be able to see everything on one phone screen. And so on.

But the whole process has been a bit demoralizing. It goes like this:

Fitbit: We want to take away this feature.
Users: No! No, no, no, that's really valuable, please don't.
Fitbit: OK, we took it away. Feel free to reach out to us at any time!
Users: Why?

I still log into the Discussion forum when I have a problem, but other than that, it's hard for me to feel very invested in Fitbit. You keep making new products, and some of them look great, but if the app that shows us our information is flawed, and is steadily downgraded, it's hard to get very excited.
