Heart rate data disappeared?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I had an Alta HR that died, so removed it from the app, and now none of my (years) of heart rate data is showing? Is it gone for good? How is it that my data isn’t available just because that device is t on my account anymore?

I can’t reconnect because I threw the Alta away (and as I said, it died anyway).

Is it really just your heart rate data that is missing?

All other data still there: steps, calories, activity, etc?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Yep, you are right, everything is gone, it’s just the heart rate data that I am most concerned about. So I guess all of my info is gone?

Your data should all still be on the main Fitbit database.  When you cannot see any, it usually means you logged out of the Fitbit app, then logged back in with a different Fitbit ID/email.  You could see it on phone app or on fitbit.com dashboard.

That isn’t true for me.

I’m in the same boat as the O.P.

My device (a Charge 2) died.

I used the iOS app to remove it from my account.

Now, heartrate data isn’t visible in the iOS app or on the FitBit website.

 Same question as the OP:

 Is the heartrate data gone?

Or just not visible while there’s no heartrate-enabled device associated with my account?

Either way, this is a bug.

Unexpected.  Inconvenient.  And it can’t be undone.

(Hopefully I’ll get access to the heartrate data again after I link to a new device.  If it’s still there.)

Got my data back.  It is still there.

I got a Charge 5.

 Connected it to my account.

And all the previously inaccessible data were displayed again.

Years of my heartrate and sleep data are, once again, visible in the app and on the FitBit website.

It looks like FitBit simply won’t display a data type if you don’t currently have a device associated with your account that can generate that data type.

This is a bug. And it should be fixed.

It’s not how users expect the service to work.

And it’s worrying to see years of data simply disappear from your account.

Also a reminder, people: If you care about your data, export it and archive it periodically.
