Hourly move reminder no longer reminding

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my Fitbit charge 2 for a few weeks now.  I took it off to charge it over the weekend & now the hourly reminders to move are not working.  I am also no longer getting call or text notifications - I keep my cell muted much of the day.    I've checked settings and they still show I should be getting these.  I have iOS.

Hello @Smako, I see you are new here in the Fitbit Community, so let me give you a warm welcome!

Make sure the option has not being disable:

  1. On the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Hourly Activity tile. This is the tile that shows the number of hours you completed 250 steps.
  2. Tap the gear icon and review if Reminders to Move are on or off.

If this isn't the issue, please set up your tracker again as new device. For additional help please  review the section of iOS of this post.

This also may help for Call / Text notifications on your tracker. Although if you need more help with this feature, review the following post.

Hope this helps and let me know how it goes!

How do you “set up your tracker as a new device?” And is this what you would recommend in my situation?

My situation:

  • iPhone 6 running iOS 12.4.5 (latest update for this phone)
  • Vibration working on text & alarms, but NOT working on hourly reminders to move and calls.
  • Notification on my Fitbit Charge 3 are on.
  • Reminders to move settings on the Fitbit app are set to: on, 8am to 7pm, and everyday.
  • I have version 3.15.1 of the Fitbit app.
  • I have tried resetting the Fitbit, disconnecting the Bluetooth connection, rebooting the iphone.

I would really like to get the reminders to move working!

Thank you for the help!

Hi, @Bondsmith , setting up your tracker as a new device can be helpful if restarting your Fitbit and rebooting your phone doesn’t work.

To set it up as a new device, on your app go to your Account screen (click on your profile icon), scroll down to “Set up a device”.  Do NOT remove or delete your Charge 3 from your account first!

From the device list choose your Fitbit (Charge 3).  You will get a message saying you already have a Charge 3 on this account; do you want to replace it?  Say yes and follow further instructions.  Note: setting up your Fitbit as a new device will NOT cause any data loss.

Hopefully that will help with your issue.  For getting your Reminders to Move working, I would also suggest trying turning OFF reminders to move, syncing your Fitbit (make sure that it syncs) and then turning them back ON again and syncing once more.

Let us know how you get on.
