How can I turn off the new Feed page in Community or hide it? I only want to see my Friends steps and not waste time with irrelevant chatter.

Just cancelled their email notices; time to find an alternative fitness monitor.

I’m sorry but I don’t think that we need to request this feature. This is clearly a gap into the development process and annoying customers. Just about everything else you could turn on or off so I don’t understand why they think that this shouldn’t be a choice.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. Smiley Happy

We really appreciate our members's input and feedback and I would like to thank you for yours. We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we very much appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers.

I understand how important for you is to have this feature available, this is being discussed by our team but please note that I do not have a firm commitment or timeline at the moment. Keep in mind if something is under consideration and chosen for development, it can be a while until it's released. Please keep an eye on future announcements.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, if there's anything else you might want to add, please don't hesitate to reply.

Have stopped using the friend feature, which was the reason I went with fitbit to start with. Just waiting for it to die before I go with something else. My bet is that it dies before fitbit acts.

Good question. I'm on my 4th FitBit, but it will be my last if this effort to be like F*ceb**k persists. I'm already considering deleting the app because it's just irritating me.

To any FitBit boffins that may be reading, I'm all for development and progress, but you can't impose something like this on people if they don't want it. Seems to me like you've found a great way to annoy a lot of satisfied customers. I just want to see what my friends are doing; why do you assume that I want to be part of a community where I don't know anyone?

The other unbelievable thing is that after all these complaints on this forum, Fitbit don’t even respond or give us hope that they are working on the issue. This has been an issue for over a year now!

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a great day. Smiley Happy

Thank you for voicing your concern about this situation involving in-app Notifications. Even when this feature has been marked as "under consideration" as previously noted, if you'd like to stop some of these Notifications, go the Notification Settings on the online Dashboard and un-check the boxes you consider necessary under Mobile, then click on SAVE for the settings to apply.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding, happy stepping!

But that has nothing whatsoever to do with my problem.

Hello @SunsetRunner, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have voiced your concern and your feedback about this feature. Please note that even though at this moment it's not possible to delete in-app Notifications, our team has this idea marked as "under consideration". I've provided earlier some steps that will prevent you and others from receiving in-app Notifications in the future.

Thanks again for your understanding, I hope you have a great day.

Happy stepping.

Yes, thank you, you copied and pasted that reply yesterday. Allow me to copy and paste my reply to your reply:

But that has nothing whatsoever to do with my problem.

It seems likely that, tomorrow, you will tell me that:

"I appreciate you have voiced your concern and your feedback about this feature. If you do, allow me to save a day and tell you that my reply will be:

But that has nothing whatsoever to do with my problem.

I am becoming increasingly unimpressed with this - having done various marketing courses over the years, I would have thought you should know that it's a lot more important to keep existing customers than try to acquire new ones. Fitbit seem quite keen to turn me into an ex-user.

Just love your response to poor Marco the moderator who can never give any solution, merely fobs us off with a promise that our comments and requests are being considered by the team. Reminds me of the Suggestion Box in the office that drops through into the garbage bin.

But then Fitbit thinks they have their existing customers for ever. Fact is most people never complain, they just dont return.

You are not listening/reading what we've said; your response makes no sense. The only explanation is that Marco is either a poor AI response system, or English is not a first or even second language. Not only is the software broken, but so is support. Fitbit is further just proving our point.

It can't be that hard to program an on/off. If you can't do it, then you
should just shut it down completely until you can. It's annoying and not
customer centric.

To prove you're not a bot how about you explain back to us what you think our issue is?

Best Answer

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. Smiley Happy

It seems the thread has drifted out of the main issue and even though I understand your frustration about not being able to delete in-app Notifications, at this moment it's not possible.

As I have mentioned earlier, there's currently a suggested idea to implement this feature, which is currently marked as "under consideration" and neither I or our Support Team know if or when this feature will be implemented. Thanks for all your patience and understanding, at this moment I will close this thread.

I hope you have a great day.
