@Monikamargot The timer tile should be in your Fitbit app, if you're not seeing it the tile may be hidden, check this article to show a tile. If you're trying to log an activity from your online Dashboard check this to know how to log it Smiley Wink

Yes, you can manually add the steps that you did yesterday, do the following:

- Go to your Dashdboard

- Tap on the timer tile > tap on "Log"

- Enter "walking" and the time, duration > Tap on log it will give you steps

I need to reset my HR. I just put it on for the first time at work today and it tracked stairs, steps and distance. Can I reset it? How do I turn it off while driving? I want to be as accurate as possible with my steps and activity. Please help. I don't want to return my Fitbit 😞

@Madre94 Welcome to the Community! As soon as you wear your Charge HR it will track your steps, distance and calories burned. Currently, it's not possible to turn it off. However, you can log driving to delete those steps.

You may want to check How accurate is my Charge HR?

@SilviaFitbit Thank you. That helped with the distance.

Spoiler

How often will the steps reset?

@Madre94 I'm glad to hear that! Your Charge HR will reset at midnight everyday all the information will be reset but it will remain in your Dashboard. Although you're going to see an amount of calories burned in your account because it's going to be based in your BMR check this article to learn more about it.

I still do not see how to add steps,  I see how to add exercises, but how do I add my steps taken throughout the day?  I am estimating them based on my average daily steps at work, but I do not see how to put in steps, only time,

A warm welcome to the Community @thstarfish! You don't have to log your steps, because your tracker will sync them. If you forget your tracker and you want to log those steps that you did, you can log walk or run to get those steps in your Dashboard.

Can you provide me more details about logging steps? Do you use your tracker and log the activity? Do you want to log your steps without entering an activity?

A couple of times now, I have gone to work and forgotten my band on the
charger. I know that my average steps during a work day are around 3500, and
it would be nice to be able to add them to the band when I get home.

As it is now, I have to guess the about of walking time to put in to get me
to the number of steps needed

Thanks

Thanks for those details @thstarfish! When you forget your tracker at home, you just need to log a run/walk activity in your Dashboard and this will make your steps appeared as if you wore your tracker during the day.

As you mentioned, you do around 3500 steps in a day. So, this makes it easier when logging an activity. What matters the most when you're logging a certain amount of steps is the distance, if you log more distance with less time, it will give you more steps.

Hope this helps.

In the Fitbit App, logging workout time does not provide the right number of steps for me.  It greatly underestimates the number of steps. To enter steps you have to go into the website application.  The ability to enter the number of steps manually (not just the amount of time) should be  added to the mobile device app.

Hello @LaManchaDQ, thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to welcome new members to the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Please note that when you manually log in an activity through the app, the steps calculated are based on your stride length. In order to measure your stride length, follow these steps:

  1. Go to a track or some place where you're sure of the distance.
  2. Count your steps as you walk across that distance, making sure you travel at least 20 steps.
  3. Divide the total distance (in feet) taken by the number of steps to get your stride length.

Your running stride can be calculated the same way if you run instead of walk.

Now, to change it:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon.
  2. Tap or click Advanced Settings.
  3. Tap or click Stride Length.
  4. Adjust your stride length.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

and on the fitbit website none of this is possible, right?  Because that was the question.

How do I add steps on the fitbit website; all these tell me how to do it on the app; but if I don't have the app handy, can I add it on the website . . . because I don't see how to do that.  Anywhere.
