How do I change a group's privacy settings for a Group created on the app?

I recently created a Group using the feature on the app, and it was automatically made a "Closed" group. Nowhere can I find how to change this setting within the admin edit options. How can I make this an open group so members can find and join?

@KrisEliz  According to this Help article, all groups created this way are closed and you, as the administrator, must invite friends to join.

@KrisEliz, I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for posting your question. As @LZeeW mentioned, all groups created through the Fitbit app are private groups, which means they're closed. As you created the group, you're the administrator and can invite your friends to join but this group will not be searchable for others (non-friends) to join.

That was a question I had also but I have another problem as well. One of my friends wants to join my group but when I look at my list of friends in the group she's not part of it. She's on my regular friends list. But not on my friends to invite to the group. How do I invite her?

At this moment I would like to check this further which is why I would like to request you a screenshot of your friend list where your friend is showing and one with the list of people you can invite to a group where she's not showing. This will be very helpful for me.

Is there a way to make suggestions about changing this?  I wanted to create a group for people who get their steps with their dogs.  It really takes away from it that I have to already be friends with them for them to join the group.  The whole point was to meet new people.

Right! It's really stupid! Wonder how many groups I would love to be part of but can't  since I'm  not friends with the administrator I don't even know it exists

Please note that the open groups in the Fitbit app have been created by Fitbit when the Community tab launched, meaning that anyone with a Fitbit account could join.

Is there no way to create an open group? I don’t have any Fitbit friends and I was hoping to create a group for other college students but I can’t do so with the closed group.

You can post on these forums for college students to join and they can contact you or another member of the group. I've invited people to closed groups before and they've been able to join. These were groups where I was a member and not the one who started the group. With our Lifestyle Discussion forums, you have the chance to post and meet more people you can invite to your group.

That's bull**ahem** no point creating a group it can not grow unless it's open to the public you should create a possess to get your group approved to be public. Thank you for your consideration. I was makeing a fasting group cause I did not see one to join but now since I understand why their was not one I'm just going to delete mine. Let me know when you fix this issue.
