How do I change my starting weight?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
I started with fitbit a few months ago and entered a starting weight. I had a few weeks where I didn't use the fitbit but want to get back into it. I need to add a new starting weight because I am, unfortunately, up a few pounds from when I first started. Is there any way to change my start weight without resetting all of my precious data? I can't seem to figure it out. I can change the goal weight, but starting weight seems a mystery. Thanks for any insights! I've got the fitbit flex and an iPhone 6.

Hello @5bailey have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community.

I appreciate you have joined the conversation and posted your question. To change the starting weight and date of your food plan please go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Nutrition & Body and tap on Starting Weight to change it and Start Date to change the date.

Give this a try and let us know in case you need anything else.

Go the the three dots in the top right corner of that page and hit reset weight goal. It will start over on the current day and delete all previous data.

I am finding a great deal of difficulty using Fitbit Charger 2, especially since I do not have a cell phone.  I use a computer only.  I have NO CELL PHONE.  I can't enter foods eaten, weight changes, nothing works right.  Nancy

I am trying to change my starting weight by changing the date and weight. It will accept the change in weight but it keeps changing the date to today. So in my log its looking like i lost 20 lbs overnight. I have tried over and over to change the date to my actual start date and weight, which was logged over a year ago, but no matter what I tap after (a different field or the back arrow) it will not save that date. My app and phone are up to date (iPhone)

This is definitely still a problem and I am having the same issue. I can change my starting weight but it won’t let me change the date. For some reason it won’t let me make it 1/3/18 and keeps changing it to 12/3/18 no matter what I do. What a piece of s&@t.

I also have the same problem..... i can't understand why its so difficult to fix this bug?
Its already mentioned in 2015??? And its an important part of the fitbit usage.... i have the ionic + aria 2 .... if i change the start date.... it keeps changing it back to the date of last weighing.... Please can somebody help?

--option that "kind of works": go to the website, go to your dashboard, go to the tile with your weight progress (don't click it but stay with mouse on top of the tile - now you see settings, click on settings, change your start weight), go back to your fitbit app on the smartphone, refresh screen, your start weight is now logged as an weight of yesterday.... remove it .....  now i see at least my weight lost from my start date that i had in mind.... the start date is still wrong but weight is now correct...

Hi,

I am having the same option, I joined Fitbit later in my journey and I want to change the starting weight so it will show me how much in total I have lost but when I changed it, the amount went to zero and started from today and not 1st of January. I have followed your steps but I cannot see anywhere in my account nutrition &body - please help, this is super frustrating

That is the exact problem I’m having. Now I’m showing no weight loss since it now says my start date is today. Very frustrating. I’m using a Versa3

I clicked on my weight section then selected the settings icon at the top of the page. Then selected Start date and it let me change the date. My weight loss doesn't look so impressive but at least it is real
