Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.

Thanks for the details provided, as well as your efforts. I'm happy to share with you that you're able to delete the messages and notifications from the Fitbit app by doing the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap the notifications icon at the upper right corner.
  2. Swipe the notification or message to the left.
  3. Tap Delete.
  4. When prompted, tap Delete to remove that conversation.

To prevent any confusion, I'm going to close this thread. However, let me encourage you to start a new thread in the Help Forums if you have another question. Your feedback is truly appreciated and we'll keep working to improve our devices, features and overall Fitbit experience.

As far as I know, you can't. Logging out and back in again may work, I guess, but I haven't tried that personally.

Welcome to the Forums @montanaterbear and @Gellar01. Let me start by explaining that the messages, cheers or taunts will be automatically deleted after 30 days since there isn't a way to manually delete this information.

If you are having a hard time sending a message and you are using your mobile device, I recommend you reboot your phone and make sure you have the latest Fitbit app version installed.

Give this a try and let me know if it helped. Robot Happy

Unfortunately, deletion after 30 days is not correct. I have taunts from 49 days and older and messages going back 127 days. I would really like to get rid of these...

This issue was resolved by logging out and logging back in. For some reason, my messages and taunts would not go away until I logged out and logged back in.

I still have messages from 87 days ago. I have the updated version of the app. I logged out and then logged back in and the messages are still there.  Are they in the process of making a way for a user to manually delete messages?

Best Answer

My messages from 99 days ago are still in the app, too. Even though they are read, I still get the red dot of unread messages notification in app.

Has there been a solution for this? I have already tried logging out of the app.

Messages were automatically deleting after 30 days up until the latest app update? Now ALL messages have returned which is really annoying!

That’s not true because I’ve had messages on there for way more than 30 days and they are still there. It’s actually pretty aggravating!

I tried that and it didn’t work

When will we have the option to delete messages? People send so much rubbish thinking its a dating app! I dont want this on my phone. I just want to delete them 😞

I would like to get an actual current answer to this question. The response that messages disappear after 90 days or something like that is not accurate. I have messages that I have received over 150 days old that I cannot delete. The only option I am given is to report them.
