Hi.
I mainly use my Alta for tracking distances covered when playing football twice a week. However, the the current interface/breakdown on the app (iOS) shows the distances in 15 minute blocks. For me to get the total distance over the period I was active (usually an hour and half) I have to manually calculate the total myself by adding the 15 minute blocks. Is there an easier way to do this or have it shown as a single distance/activity? I have included screenshots to show the breakdown last Thursday. Any help is most appreciated, thanks.

@ivarletap This might help you. First, by saying "football", I am assuming you are using the term that everyone in the world uses, except Americans, for soccer. And that you don't mean American football.
The Alta only has SmartTrack. I suspect you don't stay continuously active to have this whole session record as Sport. You will need to Log the exercise in the app. These are the steps
Now you will have that workout saved in your exercise list. When you tap on it to see the details, it will have the number of steps recorded. I know you do mixed running, walking, moving side to side, and so on. But a fair ballpark is 2000 steps per mile. Do the math and you have an estimated distance.
Not perfect. Better than your method. Cheaper than the expensive system that does GPS tracking from your boot.

Hi @LZeeW. Thank you for your response! Yes, I did mean "soccer" and not American football and it does hurts to say lol. I managed to follow your instructions and it gave me the total steps (as shown), which is great.
It would still be useful to see the total distance covered, although I am aware this open to interpretation due to the mixture of running, walking, moving side to side etc. as you mentioned. When you factor that in, does it mean the distances (km) in the method I am currently using are inaccurate?
The (rounded up to) 10,000 steps would equate to 5 miles (8km) which is more than the 7.31km total I am getting when adding up the 15 minute blocks.

@ivarletap Both methods are going to be estimates. The very nature of the sport says that not all steps are created equal. I can't even begin to guess which method is more accurate. But I can say that some tapping on your phone screen is less tedious than adding up all those bars on the graph. And it is recorded as an exercise.
Now if you want accuracy, prepare to spend $300 (about €270) for the Apex vest system.
