Welcome to the Fitbit Community @88Circle. It's great to have you here. To measure your walking stride length please follow these instructions:

  1. Go to a track or some place where you're sure of the distance.
  2. Count your steps as you walk across that distance, making sure you travel at least 20 steps.
  3. Divide the total distance (in feet) taken by the number of steps to get your stride length.

Your running stride can be calculated the same way if you run instead of walk.

To set your stride length using the mobile app

- Go to your Dashboard

- Select Account

- Tap the gear up on the right side

- Scroll down until you see Stride Length

- Turn off the Set automatically option

- Enter your numbers and force sync by going back to Dashboard > Devices > tap your tracker's icon at the top and tap the square next to Sync Now.

To set it from the online Dashboard > Settings > Personal Info > Stride Length:

To force a sync on your PC, right click the Fitbit Connect icon (located next to the time) and then click "Sync Now".

I've moved this thread to the iOS app board because it's more related to the topic. Hope to see you around more often. Cat Happy

Thank you for the help! Just a couple of things, possibly a badge for 100,000 steps in a week and a badge for 1,000 floors in a week! Thanks for the fun and health challenges!

Hi,

I have done this, but i have a problem. i have walked around 54 meters with 65 steps. when i do the stride calculation do i need to cover 54 meters in to feet, then divide by 65? then the stride will be in foot/steps right? but in the dashboard it is in cm?  please advise

Hello @kingzabez, it's great to see you around, I hope you're enjoying your time in the Community! Smiley Happy

In this case, before converting the 54 meters to feet, change the units on the Personal Settings on your online Dashboard. Scroll down and change Centimeters/Meters to Inches/Feet:

Units.PNG

Then, make the calculation of your Stride Length and enter it, you'll notice it has changed from cm to in. After entering the stride length, go back and change the units back to centimeters/meters and the stride length will update to cm as well.

Hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else! Smiley Wink
