Hi! I didn’t wear my Fitbit today and I want to add steps in the Fitbit app (I know how many steps I did because I had my phone on me). It says to tap on the “+” in the right inferior corner and then “activity” but I don’t have this option. I can only add sleep or water. Can someone help me?

I'll be glad to explain how to add your steps manually, please follow the instructions below:

  1. From the Today tab, press on the plus symbol at the bottom right corner: EstuardoFitbit_3-1725978515157.png

  2. Tap on the Activity icon:

  4. Based on the information you record manually, fill up the next blank spaces: EstuardoFitbit_5-1725978621993.png

  5. Once you save the activity, you will see the steps added to your today tab: EstuardoFitbit_6-1725978682472.png

Please be aware that your app will calculate an average of the steps made based on the distance you enter in the blank space. You can always remove the activity and add another one that more accurately matches your step count.

Hi @Rosalie123  directions can be found in this article - click. What you'd actually be doing is adding an activity, a walk, with the mileage. It's a bit tricky as you'd have to figure out how many steps would approximate the mileage. It's what I do myself when I need to add steps.

I’m not able to add an activity, I only have the option to add data about sleep, water or weight.

FYI. My screen in Step 3 looks very different. Very confusing. Also you cannot add just steps. You have to add distance and it converts into steps. WHY??? May be Google can use some of that AI to fix the problem. Frustrating.

Do you have an Android? On iPhone, I have no option to record activity or exercise.

Hey there @MaggieMight @Rosalie123, thanks for being back in the Community.

You're absolutely right. The steps you've seen are based on my own Android phone, and there can be some differences with an iPhone.

Regarding the calculation of steps, as I mentioned in my previous post, this would be based on an average range between the distance and your walk length.

@MaggieMight In your case, I'd recommend checking that your device is set up correctly. Sometimes, we can forget to do this, and the app won't be able to use all the available features.

It's also possible that your device is only tracking steps and isn't able to track specific exercises or metrics like distance or floors.
