I can not get my iPhone to locate my Fitbit

Just got a new phone, tried to sync my Fitbit to the app. Phone can’t find it.

• Fitbit fully charged and cable connected

• phone fully charge.

• turned Bluetooth off then back on, nothing

• rebooted Fitbit, nothing

• restarted phone, nothing

• uninstalled app, turned bluetooth off, turned phone off, rebooted Fitbit. Turned phone on, Bluetooth on and Reinstalled the app ..... nothing

running out of patience. Short of flying a Sharman to exorcise whatever demons this Fitbit has, anyone have any credible suggestions which aren’t just Fitbit corporate crap?

Do you still have your old phone? If so, make sure it doesn't still have a link to the fitbit in its bluetooth settings as this could be blocking connection to your new phone.

Welcome on board @Mbalenz! Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot the syncing issue you've been experiencing with your Fitbit device and your new phone. Nice way to go!

Have you checked what @SteveH mentioned?

Note that if your phone is managing multiple Bluetooth connections simultaneously:

  • Your Fitbit device might stop syncing or stop receiving notifications.
  • You can experience interruptions with any consistently streaming Bluetooth connection such as headsets, car kits, stereo audio, tethering, and file transfers.

These interruptions are typically caused by operating system and Bluetooth limitations. It's also possible that an app on your phone is causing the issue.

I'd also recommend taking a look at Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Give this a go and let us know the outcome.

I am experiencing the exact same issue and it’s driving me insane. My phone just doesn’t see the ionic. It’s like the watches’ Bluetooth just stopped working.

Have you had any luck figuring it out?

I’ve even done a factory reset 😕

Hello @iamMegs thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to have you on board.

I appreciate you have shared your experience with us. Please note that your phone might not be able to see or pair your Fitbit device through the Bluetooth Settings. Your device will only sync and pair through the Fitbit app and you will be able to see it in the Bluetooth Settings of your phone once you have set up Notifications or All-day Sync.

Now, with that said, as you have already performed a Factory Reset on your Ionic, please set up your watch as a new device and if you're having trouble, please follow these steps:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  3. Restart your Ionic by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen, then try to set up again.
  4. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet and try to set up again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet and try to set up the Ionic one more time.

Give these steps a try and let us know the outcome.
