I lose wifi every single time I open app

I am planning on calling fitbit today after at least a month of trouble with my phone, I have figured out the issue.  I lose wifi connection EVERY single time I open my fitbit app.  It took me a long time to figure out that this was the issue with my phone.  I tried everything.  I got a new router, still lost wifi. I thought the issue was happening when my blue tooth was on, so I thought it may have been a hardware issue with my iphone 7.  Then I got so frustrated that I got a new phone and the SAME thing happened.  It was at this time that I figured out the culprit was the fitbit app.  There is no question that this is the issue.  I can video my phone to show that it happens every time I open the app.  As I said, I will be calling them today.  I was just curious if anyone else has had this weird issue.

My fitbit inspire is not even paired at the moment and it STILL happens.  So So weird.  I have had the app for at least 6 years and I'm on my third fitbit and this has never happened.  It's driving me crazy.

This is the ios app by the way.

Hi @Savvvs — Does is it matter what WiFi network you are on?  (I.e. do you have the same problem on WiFi away from home?).  Does it matter whether you have the cellular data slider on or off in iOS settings for the Fitbit?  Have you tried deleting the app, deleting your Fitbit from Bluetooth setting in iOS, and then reinstalling?

I have not seen this problem before or seen it mentioned on the boards.  Just checked my setup - iPhone XS, iOS 12.3.1, Fitbit App 2.9.4, and have no WiFi issues when using it.

Hopefully you get it sorted soon.

I am super aware that this issue seems like it makes no sense! But it really is true.  I am going to check again at a different location now that I am convinced it is for sure the fitbit app causing the problem.  However, it trying to solve the issue, I even got a new router and it did not resolve the problem.

I have deleted the app more than once and reinstalled.  I have deleted from bluetooth.  I currently don't even have my fitbit paired and just opening the app shuts down the wifi.

I don't have cellular service at my house as I live in a rural area.  But this has never been an issue before.  As I mentioned, I have had a fitbit for years and this is a new but persistent issue in the last month or so?

I toggled off my cellular data and it still happens.  It is such a weird mystery.  I am so frustrated.
