First attempt at setup (app dowload) received pop up notification to update iphone 5s to latest software. Completed ios software update to 9.3.1. Second (and several more) attempt to download fitbit app, continued to receive pop up stating app requires 8.0 or higher. Completed iphone hard reset. No change in results. Have yet to turn on fitbit charge hr for installation; cannot install app to initiate set up.

Hello @kk293806, welcome aboard to our Fitbit Community. I haven't heard of any news issue regard the app from Fitbit's end where is not possible to install, having the new version of iOS. I wonder if you can share some screenshots of the error to start investigating? In the meantime you can try the following suggestion:

  1. Press and hold the power button and the home button until the Apple logo appears. Once it restarts, try downloading.
  2. Reset your router from which you are accessing your Wi-Fi.
  3. If the issue persists, trying downloading apps from a different Wi-Fi network or cellular data.

I'll be around and keep me posted.

Hello @kk293806, thank you for keep me posted. I been searching if there is an issue but so far it seems is not from Fitbit end. As soon I got more updates I will let you know.

I got a similar issue few days ago, but not with the Fitbit app. It was with another app. What I do as a workaround, was I log in to my apple account using a computer and download the app from the store. I tried to transfer the app using the PC to my iOS but it did not work; but when I tried again to download the app from my iOS device it did not gave me the error and start downloading the app. Perhaps you should give it a try but do not delete the app from your computer.

Let me know the outcome, I'll be around.
