The app on the iOS platform (I don't know about Android) is extremely slow when logging food. When tapping on the food tab, it takes about 20 seconds to open, then the screen freezes for another 20 seconds while opening the recipes suggestions that I DO NOT care about but cannot deactivate. I read in other topics that it cannot be deactivated, and the development team does nothing about it despite many similar requests. The lag may be because the app is checking if I have the credentials for Premium access.
It has become a recurrent issue and is very annoying. The fitbit app may be free to download, but it comes with wearables and scales that people paid for, and the app is the only way to use and manage these items. Pushing users to pay more to have access to premium access is appalling, and coding the app in a way that it is dysfunctional for non-premium member even more so.
The usual trend is that reporting issues results in reformatted replies and not in implementation of effective changes.
I have been a loyal Fitbit customer for 5 years, and purchased multiple trackers and scale since, but I am now very seriously reconsidering my options.
When Fitbit now starts selling trackers models that rise at a price tag similar to Garmin or Apple products, we could expect that both the App and wearables perform at the same levels than the top guys in the field.

As I have said before, one has to wonder if James Park even uses his company's products.

I’m having the same issue. Way too slow to log food. I do not want to wait for recipes to load and will never use them.
I am considering different options.
