Hello @Tjpicnic and welcome to the Community.  That 99 is a badge icon and is a weird quirk that has been showing up from time to time in iOS.  Users who get it say that it showed up after an iOS update.  Please try the following:

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  • Tap on Notifications
  • Tap on Fitbit
  • Make sure Badges is toggled to Off

That 99 is telling you that you have 99 notifications in your Fitbit app inbox.  But you probably don't.  I'm also moving your post to the iOS forum, a better fit for your question.
