Inspire HR won't stay connected during exercise

I'm extremely frustrated that no matter what I do, my inspire hr won't stay connected to my iphone during walks or runs. I start the exercise from the watch so that I can see my mileage from the watch and I leave the app open on my phone. As soon as it connects, I start the exercise on the watch and leave the app open on my phone. As soon as my phone goes to sleep (with the app STILL OPEN) the inspire hr disconnects! It won't reconnect again unless I wake up my phone. I've literally tried everything. Deleting/reinstalling the app, updating the app, updating the watch,  and updating my ios. Nothing works. I have an iphone 8.

Hi @noelleroth. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, as well for the troubleshooting steps that you've tried on your own. I'm sorry that you're having this expedience with your Inspire HR and let me give you a hand. Since your phone and the Fitbit app are updated, please go to your phone's settings and make sure the Location Services are set to "Always" for the Fitbit app. Also, go to General > Background App Refresh and enable it for the Fitbit app.

Once that is done, I'd recommend to give a try to the following:

  1. On the Bluetooth settings, forget the Inspire HR.
  2. Turn off the Bluetooth settings.
  3. Restart your Inspire HR.
  4. Turn back on the Bluetooth and open the Fitbit app.
  5. Tap on your profile icon > Inspire HR and turn off/on the All-Day Sync.
  6. Open the exercise app on your tracker and start a new GPS activity.

Let me know how it goes.
