Hi @LydfordLady without knowing what OS your phone uses. If it is android please check your phones location services. It looks like you have GPS disabled. You want it set for high accuracy.

It’s on my iPad. I haven’t disabled gps so I’m not sure what’s happened. Is there a way to check the Ionic gps is on?

I do not know anything about iOS. Your app is saying that it does not have the proper access to your location. Please remember that Fitbit does not have a dedicated iPod app and you have the iPhone version.
I'll move your iOS question to the iOS board.
As for the gps on the Ionic, this will only be on sitting the recording of an exercise.
