Hello @TP., thanks for joining us, it's always a pleasure to meet new members of the Fitbit Community! Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Have you tried to restart your phone and your Ionic by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen already? If so, I would like to suggest you check the following:

  • Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the syncing process.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth on your phone (through your phone settings) for 15 seconds, then turn it back and try to sync.

If your tracker is still not syncing correctly, my best recommendation would be setting up your tracker as a new device to reset the connection between your iPhone and your Ionic. Don't worry, none of the information already stored in your account won't be deleted.

To set up your tracker as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else! Smiley Wink

Thanks, hubby got a new iphonex. The Fitbit app transferred from the old phone remembered the ionic. Telling the app to forget the device and then go through the setup process again fixed the problem. Thanks!

If only getting music onto the ionic was as easy as this hehe

I am having issues syncing my Ionic to my IPhone X. I did all the steps you provided with removing the device ans reinstalling and it has taken 3hrs now just to install again. Its very frustrating. Why would it take this long and still not be reinstalled and ready.

Hello @AshleyO123, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums; tell me, was the Ionic able to set up on your iPhone X? Please take in consideration that if the watch takes a long time to set up you might need to force-quit the app and start the set up process again. Additionally, make sure the app is fully updated and that there are not more Bluetooth devices around that might interfere.

If your watch is still unable to set up and you have tried everything described above, please let me know so I can check this further.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply. Smiley Wink
