Is it possible to crop activities to the second?

👋 hello!

I use my Charge 6 as the source of truth for my runs - data is pushed to Strava and another running app I use for tracking in-depth metrics. While Strava can crop runs nicely, this second app can’t.

Occasionally I’ll forget to fully finish a run after pausing on my watch, so the activity is recorded for longer than I actually ran. For these I need to be able to crop to the second for accurate metrics, but the iOS app seems to only support cropping to the minute. Is it possible to do this somewhere? I’d really prefer not to have to export, edit, and import these runs manually.

Cheers!

Hey there!

Currently, the Fitbit iOS app only supports cropping runs to the minute, which may not be precise enough for your needs. Here are some quick options:

  1. Contact Fitbit Support: Ask if there are plans for updates or if there's a workaround for more precise cropping.

  2. Explore Third-Party Apps: Look for apps that can edit Fitbit data more finely before syncing with your running app.

  3. Check Community Advice: Visit Fitbit forums for tips on managing run data accuracy.

Hope this helps streamline your process!

Google dropped seconds off exercise duration in v4.00 back in September 2023. They have been asked to correct this dozens of times. I doubt this will ever be corrected. And I wonder why they did this in the first place. I can't believe they don't understand the importance of duration in activities like walk and run. It was obviously intentional, but why?
