Hello,

Just wanted to check if there are any updates planned to include notifications for WhatsApp, Facebook or any other social media alerts in the fitness trackers - Alta HR or Charge

Thanks

Hi, @RinaldoBritto! You can currently get messages from either WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, just set it up as your default messaging app. Here's a screenshot from my AltaHR showing those options (bottom two).

Is this still not fixed?

this has been an issue with the Charge 2 for almost a year and a half now and I still see the community pleading for this to be solved.

please tell me Whatsapp notifications are now available on the Fitbit charge 2 on iOS???

if not, I really wonder about the quality of IT services Fitbit has.

Hello @RinaldoBritto and @ScottBruton, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @MakMakSmiley Happy

@RinaldoBritto and @ScottBruton, thanks for bringing this situation to my attention. At this moment there are not plans to release Whatsapp (and other Social Media) Notifications on trackers other than the Fitbit Blaze, Ionic and Versa; this is a feature only available in Android devices. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released here in our FAQs

Our team has left the feature suggestion open for votes (and closed to comments) so our team can continue to track community demand over time. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us and we will let you know if anything changes. Additionally, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply, I'll be happy to help.

I understand (with Android) that you can change your default messenger to either FB messenger or Whatsapp, but does that mean that you have to choose between them? Would it be possible to get WhatsApp messages and text messages on the Versa?

Hello @Kristadawn05, thanks for joining the conversation, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have brought this into consideration. Please note that if you have an Android phone, you can choose between Hangouts, FB Messenger, Messages and Whatsapp but indeed, only one can be selected. However, in the Versa (Ionic and Blaze as well) you can enable App Notifications, this will let you receive notifications from any app on your phone and you can enable as many as you want.

I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Thank you for the response.
My next question would be this, if you enable app notifications for FB Messenger and WhatsApp, can you read and reply on the watch or simply get notifications that you have a message and need to look at your phone.
Thank you!

Hello @Kristadawn05, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

Please note that in iOS, with the Versa, Ionic and Blaze you will only be able to see the app Notifications. Currently, only Android users have the ability to reply to those Notifications using Quick Replies (on Versa and Ionic).

I understand how important this feature is for iOS users, which is why I would like to suggest you to check @Bdcraw's suggested idea to implement this feature in a future update. Feel free to add your vote and comment on this idea, this is the best way to make your voice heard and get the attention from our development team.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Hello @John1024, thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to have you on board the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for having posted your suggestion. Please note that the Fitbit Versa can receive Whatsapp and Facebook Notifications. In order to enable them go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Versa > Notifications  > App Notifications. On the list you see here, you will be able to enable the apps you'd like to receive Notifications from. Please note that your phone needs to receive a push Notifications from said apps before they appear on this list.

With that said, at this moment it's not possible to have quick replies for these apps, which is why I would like to suggest you to add your vote and comment to @Bdcraw's suggested idea

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I have just been looking into cheaper trackers as a gift and I can buy a coloured cream tracker that receives text and WhatsApp messages for under £30. How can the more expensive Fitbit range not allow WhatsApp messages? Is this a planned update? I have just bought a new HR (over £100) and yet it has less features than a £30 tracker. I think the company needs to update its awareness of what people want and get with the times. No one only has one form of messaging in use on a daily basis. Do these people even use their own trackers ans phones?! Add WhatsApp!!!!
