When I cycle, my Alta counts steps and calories too even if I manually log the activity. So it double counts despite all the information online that says the opposite. If it doesn't accurately track my activity, what's the point in an activity tracker. Please help.

Hello @SC52, I saw this is your seconds post and its nice to see you keep visiting the Fitbit Community.
When you are cycling yes, it will count steps and calories although despite your steps are going to be accumulative for your whole day count it will be a minor amount. About calories it wont double count your numbers since this information instead of being duplicate it will override your calories and will be replace for a higher count based on the intensity of your exercise.
With manual activities is the same, all steps, calories, and active minutes recorded by your tracker are overridden for the duration of a manually logged activity by the activity's entered values. This ensures that your steps are not counted twice as long as the manually logged activity has the correct start time and duration.
In the most basic form your tracker is a movement sensor that will read all your movement patterns. So if you are cycling, your tracker might give you credit for some steps. Your calories on the other side is as I mentioned earlier; It will depend of the intensity of the exercise itself. But something is sure, it wont double count your numbers.
About calories accuracy, perhaps the following thread might be of your interest: Unsure about calorie burn accuracy...
See you round and let me know if you have more questions.

Hi. Thanks so much. It sounds like it SHOULD over-write calories and steps but it doesn't, trust me. The only way I can get it to over write is to use Driving and then submit my Cycling when I'm doing nothing. It's a bit of a faff, not gonna lie. Also if I put in 15 mins of cycling = 60 calories, say, the number of calories burned barely changes and neither do the number of calories I have left. How can that be? Sorry, I just don't understand this gadget.
