Is iOS 12 compatible with FitBit? It has not been syncing since installation several days ago.
Moderator Edit: Clarified Subject.

Hi @RonLundin. I have not heard an official answer but I would suggest you re-start your Fitbit device to get it in sync with the IOS update. Tap here for instructions. You may have to do it a couple times. This should do the trick. Please let us know.
On a side note, I’ve learned over the years to hold off a bit on updating my IOS devices unless the update’s purpose is to address security issues. Don’t get me wrong. I am a big fan of my IOS devices (iPhone, iPad) but Apple tends to let the customers do a good share of the trouble shooting, releasing incremental updates after they receive reports of what is not working.

Background sync has broken, and no amount of resetting has fixed it.
Hopefully this will be addressed soon in a patch.
Manual sync is working, so I’m doing that for now.

Hello @RonLundin and @Reefs, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community. It's great to see you too @SunsetRunner, thanks for all your help.
@RonLundin, I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Please note that as @SunsetRunner mentioned, if you're having trouble syncing your device, please restart it and try to sync again. If it's still not syncing, please try the following:
- Force quit the Fitbit app.
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
- Open the Fitbit app.
- If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
- Open the Fitbit app.
- If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
- If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
- If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.
@Reefs, thanks for bringing this to my attention and for letting us know you're still able to manually sync your Fitbit device. Our team has not yet released a new update after iOS 12 was released but please keep an eye on this thread where we will post once a new update is available.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, in the meantime if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

None of your suggestions worked for me. My iPhone 6 crashed and we did a complete reset and loaded each app that I use regularly (a minimum). I have tried all options and nothing works withiOS12.1

Hello,
I have the same issue with the latest iOS and charge 3 for 3 days now. Did all that is recommended, updated app, reboot device, force shut down my iPhone 6. Nothing works. I also install the app in Android. That works. Any advice?
Thanks

My Alta HR works with IOS 12, but the background sync has never worked properly since the upgrade.
Oddly, the background sync has kicked in a few times now, but it stops after a few days.
Other than deleting my account, I don’t think there are any more reset steps I could take.

I have had the same problem. The bluetooth connection seems to drop out when the battery gets to around 25%. I'm not sure when I should recharge because I don't want to stuff up the battery life!?!

iPhone8 and FitBit Versa drops out every few days. The only way I can link
them is by force restarting both. This has worked to date.
Turning the phone Bluetooth off and on or removing other Fitbit devices
does not make a difference. In the long run the link will keep dropping
out.
Regards IKICan

And I won't buy a new one because this Fitbit has been a champ, outlasting every tracker I've had. This thing is 4 years old and I've never had an issue with it. I just keep it in my pocket and it tracks my steps.

Thank you for this thread. It must be the iOS 12 update that is causing problems. I thought my FitBit Flex had finally bit the dust. 🙂 I tried closing the app, turning off my Bluetooth, restarting my iPhone, syncing with the dongle on computer and finally that worked for online dashboard but app still wouldn't update. I finally deleted my app and reinstalled and it's working now.
