Kilojoules showing I'm over target

If I have Kilojoules as the unit of energy I am currently well over target in the food meter but if I use Calories I am well under target.

Something is wrong somewhere.

@Rjl61 Welcome to the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned.

It's pretty weird what you're experiencing. I would like you to make sure you've set kilojoules as your unit in your Fitbit app:

  1. Tap the Today tab

     > your profile picture.
  2. Tap Advanced Settings Units.
  3. Make your changes.

If your units are properly set then please log out from your account and force quit the app. If you keep experiencing the same, attach a screenshot to your next reply.

Keep me posted. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

when I track my food on my versa, it now only works if I do so in calories, not KJs. has this happened to others? is there any fix? The helpline hasn't been able to help. They have sent it to a "higher level".

Thanks Silvia.
Just trying to help.

This has happened to me as well, but on my phone rather than on my device. Is yours like this on your device? I have a Charge 3

Best Answer

Sorry...I've just realised my problem is different. My phone has stopped measuring energy used in Kjs, it will only do it in Calories. There is no option in the 'units' to change between Kjs and Cals.

Best Answer
Yes, it's on my phone app that it's happening.

I've had a response to my request for help:

  1. Go to the Fitbit app in your phone to check if the kilojoules option is also missing.
    • Open the Fitbit app.
    • Tap the profile icon > Advanced Settings > Units.
    • Scroll down to check if the Energy, Calories-Kilojoules, are also missing.
  2. Check if the timezone in your profile is correct.
    • Open the Fitbit app.
    • Tap the profile icon > Advanced Settings > Timezone.

If the timezone is set correctly, please follow these steps:

  1. Select a different timezone.
  2. Sync your Charge 3.
  3. Choose the correct timezone again.
  4. Sync your Charge 3.

I tried this, but I only got back to how things were when the problem started. On my main dashboard, it says kJ, but the number is actually the number of calories, and the icon is only 1/4 complete if I've burned my total kJs for the day. So the target is set as number of kJs burned, but it is only showing the number of calories burned. If I hit that icon to go to the page showing daily Kiljoules Burned for the last few days, that info is all in kJs and the graphic is correct.  I've sent them that info, so I'll update here when I have a reply.

Hi @melgage ,

The first part of your email does not apply to me because I could select either calories or kilojoules.

However, the last paragraph looks like the same as I am seeing.

I have left this matter in the hands of Fitbit via @SilviaFitbit and hope that it gets fixed in a future update.

@WJFR It's nice to see you on the Community. Since you mentioned you already have a case with our Support team, please continue the communication through email.

@Rjl61 Thank you for tagging me.

@melgage Hey there. It's pretty weird that you're unable to change your energy units. In this case, I would like you to provide me with a screenshot of what you're seeing on your Fitbit app.

Keep me posted. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

@WJFR, @SilviaFitbit I have now also been referred to a 'higher level of support', so no quick fix, it seems.
