I am at a crossroads of what watch to get. Either stick with the Apple Watch or switch to the Versa 2. Just wanted to find out what I would be able to do through the Versa 2 when paired with iPhone? Can you open, send and respond to text messages? Can you answer or make calls? Is there a way to ping/call the phone from the watch if you can’t find it? I know these questions have been raised previously but it has been some time so wasn’t sure if things have changed.

Hi @GolfLife18 - The Versa 2 does not offer cellular service like some of the Apple watches do. The Versa 2 works with your iPhone. So ... 

  • You can send notifications from your iPhone to the V2 and open them to read but you cannot respond to them or initiate new text messages.
  • The V2 can notify you when a call comes in. From there you have the option to hang up or answer the call. Answering opens the call on your iPhone. You need the iPhone to participate in the call.
  • You cannot call your iPhone from the V2.
