Logging Steps via Charge 2

I can log steps via the Fitbit.com site but can not do that on my iPhone fitbit app.  The only choice there is miles.  Is there a way to log steps directly via the iPhone app?

Good question! You can edit the Settings of the Fitbit App on your phone, try going to Account (upper right corner) > Advance Settings > Unit > choose the one you want. To log steps directly via iPhone app, tap on the "Track exercise" tile and pick the little stopwatch in the upper right corner, then enter your activity.

Hope you enjoy your workouts, I'll be around! Heart

Thanks for the attempt but clarify somethings for me:

First I have the fitbit Charge 2 and my question was how to log steps directly via the iPhone. I can do it via the fitbit website but not the iPhone app.

1) I am able to edit units as you noted but by going to account-advanced settings- Unit. However there is no unit called “steps” so that does not help

2) You then advise to log steps by tapping "on the Track exercise tile" (first you need to click +) "and pick the little stopwatch in the upper right corner”. There is no stopwatch icon. On the Fitbit Charge 2 after you click track exercise tile you then have to select “Log” and then select exercise type, walk, elliptical, run etc. None of these allow the entering of steps. They only give you distance measurements i.e. miles

So it still appears that you can not enter steps from the iPhone app only the web site unless you can tell me what I am missing.

Hi @sullivanvv, thanks for getting back! Of course, let me put it in different words. Cat Happy

In regards to your first inquiry you can log steps via iPhone in the way you mentioned above: By opening the Fitbit App, tapping on the (+) sign, choose distance, duration or date and save the activity. It'll take you back to the main Dashboard, and you will see that your steps will increase.

If you want to see the activity information, tap on the "Activity tile" (has the little man running), and you will get the "impact for your day" option. If you're not able to log activities, please let me know if you're encountering an error or message. You might log out/in to troubleshoot the issue if it doesn't response.

Now, about your second inquiry, when you change the "Unit" option to "miles", your activity will be display as miles. Same thing with Km, you don't have the option to edit steps, since the Fitbit App will recognize which "Unit" you choose to use it to display steps.

Hope this helps! Woman Very Happy
