Losing Bluetooth Connection

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa keeps losing Bluetooth connection with my phone. I get like 4-5 notifications a day saying it’s lost Bluetooth connection. I’ve gone through the set up process several times but it keeps happening. This last time, it’s saying it can’t connect at all. What’s going on with this? I also think this back and forth connection is causing my battery to drain way sooner. It barely lasts a day now. And I’ve only had this Fitbit Versa for about a year. Is this normal?

Hello @ElizabethM1

Welcome to the Fitbit Community. I see your having syncing issues. I would suggest restarting your Versa and see if that resolves the issue. Here’s how:

  1. For Fitbit Versa and Fitbit Ionic, press and hold the back and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. For Fitbit Versa Lite Edition and Fitbit Versa 2, hold the back button for 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons. Now sync

😃 please let me know if my suggestions provide you with the best answer to your question

Yes. I have tried all that several times, but it keeps happening. Since this has started happening, I’m having to charge it every night. I think it’s causing the battery to wear out quicker.

Hello again @ElizabethM1

Have you considered deleting then reinstalling the Fitbit app? It really wouldn’t hurt trying that. I know it helps syncing issues. You won’t lose any data doing this. Here’s how:

1. Log out of the Fitbit app and force shut the app by swiping up

2. uninstall the Fitbit App from your device

3. now completely shut down your device and wait about 1 min then restart your device

4. once your device has reloaded reinstall the Fitbit app by downloading it from the App Store

5. once it’s installed, log into your device as you normally would with username and password

6. don’t touch anything in the app...just wait until you get a prompt from your Bluetooth.

7. when prompted say yes to Bluetooth

😃 Please let me know if this is the best answer to resolve your issue

I tried what you said. It connected immediately like you thought it would with the notification to connect to Bluetooth. Not more than 2 minutes laters I received another notification about being disconnected from the phone‘s Bluetooth came up.

@ElizabethM1

Do you get these Bluetooth prompts while trying to force sync your Fitbit App by dragging the Fitbit Apps main page down with your finger?

I get them when I open the app. Sometimes it’s when I slide down on the screen as well. Sometimes it just disconnects all together and it won’t reconnect so I have to go through the whole process of reconnecting again. It varies.

I wondered because sometimes if I try to repeatedly sync it will say failed. But resolves within moments. If my above suggestions do not resolve your issue then maybe it’s best you call Fitbit Customer Service. You can find ways to contact them here: https://help.fitbit.com/?l=en_US&cu=1&fs=ContactUs&co=GB

Im really sorry I couldn’t have been more help.
