Just updated the app and see that now macro percentages are calculated. However, I noticed that if you have more or less than a "serving size"...let's say you're trying to increase protein a bit...then the macro percentage does not change/increase. Also, same goes for nutrition facts-if you have more or less than a serving size, the nutrition facts remain the same. Frustrating when trying to track macros.

Hi there @Jessag15, it's great to have you on board, welcome to the Fitbit Community!
I really appreciate our members's input and feedback and I would like to thank you for yours. I completely understand that tracking macro-nutrients in the app can be somehow difficult with the recently implemented feature. As this is a fairly new addition, our team is always looking to improve it and I would like to encourage you to submit your insight as a suggested idea, where our members can comment and vote for it so it can be implemented in the future.
I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else!

@MarcoGFitbit that makes no sense. It shouldn't be a feature suggestion. It's how the app should actually work. If you eat a serving a protein & the app shows it as 5% & then you eat half a serving of the same protein the app should change to 2.5%, not stay at 5. It's how macros work.

I have diabetes, and need to know how many grams of carb are in my meal to decide how much insulin to take. I am surprised that the nutritional information doesn't change based on the quantity of food. It would be so easy to scale these up to the quantity entered.

When is this feature being implemented?
For the last year I thought my macros were being calculated based on the quantity entered - but it only updates the calories!!! This makes no sense from a featured point of view?
Highly frustrated!!!!

I agree this should not be and enhancement. This is a bug and needs to be fixed. Please help us keep track of nutrients and particularly protein levels. The protein amount should be updated when the serving size changes.

I just want to share frustration with this. Without the macros adjusting to portion size, the function is at the least misleading and at the worst, could potentially cause someone to eat outside of a prescribed diet balance. The nutrient tracker is really only a calorie counter in its current state. I fear many are not aware as I just discovered it myself as number changes made no sense when I added a 1/2 portion of something. Anyway, please fitbit gurus - this matters.
Thanks

It’s been two years since this problem was originally posted and this still hasn’t been fixed! This is wildly frustrating, I didn’t realize that my macros weren’t being tracked accurately until recently, and I’ve had to do them by hand since.

This is very frustrating. I am trying to watch my carbs and since Fitbit doesn't adjust them when you adjust the serving size - nothing is every accurate. Crazy that this can't do this and after two years you haven't fixed the problem. Although I like my Fitbit I may have to search for another product that works appropriates. Adjusting calories is fine - but if it doesn't adjust everything else...well that is not acceptable.

Is there any plan to fix the macro tracking issues or should I give up using the food tracking and find a different tracker? If there are plans to resolve, what is the estimated date? Also, why do we have to discover this ourselves when analyzing our own data? Shouldn’t you publish it in the “learn more” section? And 2 years is a long time to be patient. I just started using the food tracker and discovered it is not tracking accurately when I change portion sizes after a week of using it.

What on earth? How is this not a basic function? You are either a fitness company that understands the need for precision in food tracking, or you are a company which doesn't. Over two years of customer feedback? My husband was ordering a Fitbit today, ironically. We'll be putting that on hold.

I have been a Fitbit user for several years. I have always just logged and counted calories. I have recently begun a low carb keto diet which relies on macros. I re-emphasize the importance of macros that track against portion size AND associated calories to support people who are dieting. For paleo and keto dieters, Fitbit is not providing the support we need.
