Hi All,
hope you can help with my rather strange request !!!
I' m doing daily walks for a charity & I am logging it through the exercise section & I have to show my actual kms on a public forum, initially it was logging my daily routes on a map without showing actual place names which was prefect as I don't want people to know where I am actually walking ,however yesterday & today its showing an actual map with place names & people can see where I am actually walking. As I walk on my own daily ,I prefer not to show the actual place names, is there anyway this can be done? I tried turning off the GPS but then it wont let me track the walk at all !!!
Please help

Hello @Coathanger and a warm welcome. Which Fitbit model are you using? Depending on the model, you might be able to disable GPS just for that exercise, not disable the GPS for everything. You can use the Exercise app and get a steps x stride length distance, instead of the GPS mapped distance.
I use this feature for a favorite route that goes through a long tunnel. It is also important to point out the an auto-recognized walk does not give you distance.

@Coathanger Do you have a Charge 2 or a Charge 3?

@Coathanger I have a Versa 2 on my account. The information I am giving you comes from the Charge 3 Manual , p 34-35. This section is telling you how to make sure that GPS is ON. You can use it to make sure GPS is OFF for your walk.
I have a similar setting path that I take to turn my phone GPS off for my trips that go through a tunnel. At the end of the walk, you should have a steps x stride length distance reported in your exercise summary.
