Messages on Fitbit but not on iPhone

Apparently no one has asked this question before since we have spent days trying to figure it out. The only way I can get my messages to come through on my Fitbit is to have the whole message come through on my iPhone lock screen. I like for it to pop up on my iPhone when I have a message but for privacy reasons I do not want the whole message displayed. However I would like the messages to come through on my Fitbit. I’m not sure if this is possible or if I need to get an Apple Watch? Please help!!!

Hello @KB_2019 and a warm welcome.  I tried changing some settings in my iPhone, just to see what happens.  Then I asked my husband to send me some random texts, which he did, albeit begrudgingly.

 

On your iPhone go to Settings > Notifications > Messages.  Under the Alerts section, I unchecked Lock Screen.  My Banner style is set to Temporary.  The Banner displayed the text on my phone screen for a couple seconds and I got the whole text on my Versa 2.  When I unchecked Lock Screen, Notification Center and Banners, the text did not come through to my Versa 2.

No, I want to be notified when a text comes in, but I don’t want the preview on my phone. I’d like to see the text on my Fitbit. I could do this with my Charge 2 but not my Charge 3. It may have something to do with an updated Fitbit. Thanks anyway!
