Miles vs kilometers confusion?

I’m using a Fitbit sense 2, latest iOS app and latest firmware.  

My app is configured to kilometers units, and when I set my daily distance goal to 8km, it’s translated to about 13 (8 miles is almost 13km). To fix it, I’ve changed my setting to 5km, which is exactly 8 miles.  

This appears to be a new bug - I’ve never had this issue in the past 5 years.

No, the bug is very well known and reported to Fitbit multiple times, they simply don't care.
