My Charge 3 will not sync or update

Have problems with syncing and updating between my Charge 3 and my iPad.  I got my device in November 2018 and it just started having issues this week.  Just deleted the Fitbit app and re-installed the app to see if that helped.  Still not helping, the app tells me it is connected to the device, but there are no syncing or updating.  What should I do?  There is no use having an activity device like this if I cannot get the data from it.

@KarenNorway A warm welcome to our Community! Sorry to hear that your Charge 3 isn't syncing with your iPad. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. Restart your phone and restart your device.
