New App and Sleep Tracking

Since the app has been updated it is not tracking my sleep consistently or entirely. For 2 days it has me sleeping between 3 and 4 hours a night - it randomly stops tracking after 1:30 am ? I have not had a problem until the new release. Has anyone else encountered this?

Same here.  It just is maddening that my sleep is not accurately tracked.  Wondering what else is inaccurate. All in all, this new app sucks. Bland, difficult to read, ugly design, and some features have disappeared.  Any suggestions for a replacement?  Been using my Fitbit for years, but this is unacceptable.

Save here too.  I purchased my fitbit sense two years ago, after a health crisis, specifically for the sleep tracking and metrics such as heart rate, SpO2, and sleep temperature.  I never wore a watch before this but have worn it every day since my purchase.

Since the upgrade two weeks ago today, my sleep tracking has not worked for 6 of the nights.  Today, it tells me I was awake from 4 am to 8:20am.  Oddly, two of the nights it stopped tracking my sleep at exactly the same time - 4:56am.

The other health metrics have been spotty, no HR one night, no SpO2 another night, wildly inaccurate health metrics other nights.

Now that my health stable, I may just stop wearing the sense and put it in my pocket to use as a pedometer.

Same here, I went to help and was told to reset my fit bit. I will see if this works, if not, I will be using a different smart watch. The change was horrible!

I have months of 8+ hours of sleep a night.  Since the upgrade about a third of the nights show as 4-5 hours.

There is no excuse for this!

I happened to me again last night, it says I slept 4h 5m and got up at 5:26am.  I don't think I've ever gotten up at 5:26 am in my life!

So far I've had the app 14 nights and 7 of those nights, 50%!, are incorrect.  This is unacceptable.  My birthday is in 3 weeks!  Guess what I'm asking for...

Even in the old app it was often missing some of my sleep hours. Here is what I do. I look at my day's heartbeat and the start and stop time is reflected by a drop in heart rate. I check the start time and stop time. Then I go into the night's sleep report where I can edit or delete logs. With a little trial and error anyone should be able to edit the start and stop sleep time. The app will then reanalyze the sleep. The tricky part with editing is to not have any overlapping times.

Mine is not showing awake times, I know I was awake and what time I woke up. I've seen several comments to move the sensitivity to normal from sensitive. I'm going to try the sensitive setting tonight.  I have not changed the watch band size, it still fits the same as always. I also do not get a percentage number or rating of my sleep. Is it possible to receive the data once available, I have to move to the premium package?

Sorry, that is too much work.  I just want it back to the way it was.

Yes. Sleep tracking is spotty. Still no reappearance of the Step Streak Banner. And now the new app does not even synch my steps, although my Luxe is still accurate. Nothing but disgust for the new app and FitBit’s falsely sunny “we hear you” response to the community. Your credibility is toast.

Others are posting similar comments around the forum about gaps in nighttime heart rate and sleep data, starting about the time the new app was rolled out.
The suggestions of restarting, reloading, resetting (and regretting…) don’t seem to work.
After nights with missing hours, I had 2 nights of almost complete data (missing only one hour, yay!), and then last night’s gap was almost 6 hours.
Another post elsewhere said Fitbit is aware and working on it. It’s frustrating. Missing heart rate and sleep data affect other stats, and for those of us with Premium, what are we paying for?

This happened to me today on the android app: I woke up too early and it showed about 6 hrs sleep time. I went back to sleep and the home screen showed about 8 hrs sleep. When I tapped down to the sleep details, the time showing and the length of the graph was still for 6 hrs. However, it showed the wake up time for 8 hrs. I toggled in and out several times without change. I looked again later today and the graph now correctly shows the correct 8 hrs. Something definitely got out of sync for a while!
