New Dashboard Concerns

Is there anyway to return back to the old dashboard? This new one is not useful to me at all. I loved seeing my steps on it. Now all I see is a summary for the week and a chart etc. Too much looking to find info quickly.

Supposed to be "tiles" not "times" in my last post.

I don't want to tap on each individual tile to get previous data. If I swipe left to look at last Tuesday, last Tuesday's data should be there. This is an intuitive assumption. So, I agree, the new dashboard is garbage.

THIS THIS THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I am not so much frustrated by the visual of the new dashboard (though I wish with all that is holy that I could customize what appears at the top more - I simply don't care about how many floors I've climbed - let me put what I do care about there, like my water or heart rate), I am incredibly frustrated by the fact that when I scroll back to a certain day, I don't have all of that day's info there. I can't believe that there were people who actually WANTED this specific change. It's bizarre.

@Dsroyall3 You are still able to track your runs. If you click the exercise tile on the Fitbit App you are still able to access all of your historical workout data and start a MobileRun workout.

Additionally, you can find information about the new app dashboard and how to start using it by clicking here.

I think most of us know how to use it. That's not the issue - it's that we don't like it. I know how it works - and I find it frustrating and increasingly time consuming to find the same information that used to be accessed more quickly in one glance.

There's a feature request to bring it back - perhaps they'll listen if they get enough complaints... I hate it too - stupid circle graphics...

I held out as long as I could with the old dashboard but the newest update took it from me. That's ok and I'll adapt but there's one part in particular about it that's driving me crazy. I didn't want to give it a bad review in the App Store and haven't been able to find a more appropriate way to voice my opinion through their website. I really dislike that the whole page doesn't change when you click back to past dates. Heart rate and sleep stay the same while the steps/mileage/stairs change... When I'm going back to see previous days, I want to look at it as a whole because there could be a correlation between sleep and steps. I would love if that could be part of a future update.

Calories in Vs Out is gone for each day individualy. Can someone tell me if is such a big deal having the calories in/out matching with each day info??? This completely absurd...

That's a shame. As was said by someone below, change is fine, as long as it's an improvement. Change just to keep your programmers busy is not.

I was just going to buy a new Charge HR (since the back broke off, and the button fell completely off over the weekend!), but now I'll be looking for a different brand completely.

As an aside, it would have been really, really prudent had FitBit sent an email to every FitBit user telling them, AHEAD OF TIME, the exact date/time the change was going to happen, AND that there wasn't going to be an option to keep the more-useful one.

Sigh...

In addition, Apple really should implement a feature to allow us to "ignore" updates from specific apps.

I'm so sick of developers pushing out updates to their apps, without providing any details other than "Bug Fixes"... and then when it's to late, we find that they removed or altered functionality.

If you are looking for a new tracker - I see both Best Buy and Amazon has the Garmin VivoSmart HR tracker on sale for $99.00.

Why on earth has his been designed so the sleep tile doesn't change when you swipe between days? Shockingly poor. And why remove the option to have the choice?

You have the old dash back? How!?

That sucks. Look around at how many people hate the new one enough to quit using a Fitbit and buy another brand! Me included. Please bring the old one back!

I do not like the new dashboard and I do not want it on my iPhone or my iPad or my laptop.  Now I can't get the old dashboard back on my iPhone.  The new one just came up without my asking for it.  I am so frustrated by this that I am thinking about buying a Garmin wrist monitor.  You should have more respect for your customers.

Exactly! I have been with Fitbit since 2012 and this is the first time that I've not only considered going with a fitness tracker from another company but am actively researching it now! If I don't see a correction to this within 2 months (an option to go back or a diff layout), I will be buying a different one. Seeing as though 80% of my Mon-Fri’s are spent with fitness competitors, I'm sure that we'll all be discussing which fitness tracker will replace our Fitbits.

FitBit customer service sent me THIS THREAD to try and show me why my calories aren't updating right...the link says "FORCED Dashboard is Garbage" and I AGREE.

Who asked to fix something that wasn't broken and was working perfectly? NO ONE.

You're showing me TODAY'S CALORIES when I scroll to other days? WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL ARE YOU THINKING? The amount of frustration I have felt from this in the past 48 hours is immeasurable. I commend them for responding to my post BUT they aren't listening to EVERY CUSTOMER ON THIS THREAD and getting on GIVING US THE OLD FORMAT BACK. Do they understand that fitness, health, and food are sensitive for people and, for some like me, a struggle because of past disorders with food??

Have just looked through this forum and seen the number of people unhappy with the new dashboard, as am I. On my iphone all I get is a meaningless graph on the top half of the screen with the bottom half white and blank except for distance ran, What is the point?, this dashboard does nothing for me and I really cannot understnd why we've had it forced upon us without the option of choosing either. What I dont understand is how Fitbit see this as an upgrade or the commercial advantage in imposing what is a very unpopular change.

Also I am disappointed by Fitbits' seemingly unwillingness to address this (ie. give us the option because in fairness some people like the new dashboard) or even explain how this is actually an "upgrade" as they see it rather than a downgrade as a large number of their (current) customers see it .

Over to you Fitbit, I challenge you to a positive response.

Hello Fitbitters! Smiley Happy Sorry to hear you don't like the new iOS dashboard! Try going to "account", then scroll down to settings and then go to advanced settings. If you see the option "Preview New Dashboard", turn it off and you will have the old dashboard. The thing is that over the next few months the old design will no longer be available and the new design will become permanent.

I did some research on the Feature Requests Board and was able to find this suggestion which is asking for an option to keep the old dashboard. Feel free to add your vote to the suggestion!

Hope this helps. See you around! Smiley Happy
