Don't know what the tradeoffs were technically to justify the updates made, but visually from a UX/UI perspective this update is a terrible & a big setback in terms of user experience.
Key issues I have:
Visibility: You've made the text on the display smaller while gaining absolutely 0% extra screen space for additional information. I have to hold my phone up directly to my face to see the data.
Data Sets More Difficult to Recognize: The recognition from the previous tile format was immediately identifiable due to tiles that were large enough to see w/ unique recognized symbols. The current display of these features in a list of similar, smaller, muted color dots makes the user search visually to find & recognize the data they're seeking.
I hope whatever tradeoffs were made justify these setbacks. Its made the interface more cumbersome for all your users UX design is supposed to improve this.
Throwing my hand in w/ the others on here wishing the old dashboard was an option.

The dashboard was an integral part of the Fitbit experience. To make it so much worse is unfathomable and a bad business decision. They need to take into account the poor response from the community and make improvements pronto.
