  • I have a Fitbit ionic: my iPhone XS is on the latest iOS build. This morning I completely reset to factory the watch, remove the Bluetooth removed the watch removed the app and started over.  Even after completely starting from scratch again the watch only gets notifications for about 3 hours then stops.

This is has been happening since November.

Help!!  I am not able to receive text or phone call notifications on my fitbit!!  What should I do to my IPhone XR?

When will this be addressed?  I have tried all the suggested fixes but still don’t get text message notifications

Agree, my notifications was working fine. Then it’s stopped again... frustrated going through all the troubleshooting & it doesn’t help.

Basically you'll have to buy a new unit. I was ultimately told that my charge 2 (after 2 years of absolutely NO issues) 'must have been at the end of it's internal software life and there was nothing they would do'.

Did you actually start receiving text notification with a new device? I
believe I have read from the thread that people were still experiencing
issues even with a new device. Can you please confirm and what version of
the device and iOS SW you are using with and for how long have you NOT seen
a problem with text notifications.

Thanks!

I don’t feel confident in buying another Fitbit device at this point. The issue has been going on since Oct 2018 (7 months) with no consistent fix??  My family has purchased a total of 5 Fitbit devices and even the newer ones no longer get the notifications, so if I have to buy a new device I will likely take my business elsewhere. And perhaps that’s what it will ultimately take for Fitbit to figure out the true fix to this issue

Thanks so much for the feedback. Unacceptable for sure and as you said, not
worth spending the money if the problem persists. I wonder if it's purely
related to the BLE stack and if Apple has any stake in it.It's hard to
imagine how a company is willing to sacrifice markets hare for a problem
that should be relatively easy to remedy.

Touch wood mine has been working fine now for about 4 months

i have a Fitbit blaze and a iPhone 8

its annoying that I have to have the banner come up so my messages can be read on screen without going into them but never mind..

this is what I did...

Ok after turning a million things off and on and back off I have finally got text message notifications working on my Fitbit Blaze/iPhone 8 this evening.

The latest thing I did was update my iPhone to the latest software. Deleted the Fitbit app and reinstalled it. Then repaired my Fitbit to my iPhone.

I then set the following on my iPhone (which made it start working):

settings>notifications>messages

under alerts made sure there was a tick in all 3 boxes (lock screen/notification centre/banners)

My sounds was already set to “Note”

Show previews was set to Always

Notification grouping was set to Automatic

Repeat Alerts was set to once

Vsseym Thanks for the details. I followed them exactly but it still isn’t working. I’ll try resetting my Fitbit again and see if that helps

I am THRILLED to report that Vsseym’s instructions worked and I am now receiving text notifications again on my Fitbit (Alta HR). It didn’t happen instantly but they are coming through consistently now. I’m a bit skeptical because I’ve had them come back for a brief period before and then disappear again, but for now I’m happy. THANK YOU!!

Re-pair it as though it’s a new Fitbit when you first got it

That’s great. Touch wood it carries on.

The only thing that has happened to mine is if the battery completely depletes I find when it is charged it is showing the wrong time. I just go into the Fitbit app and resync it. It then shows correct time.

I had been trying all sorts of settings. I think my friend was getting annoyed when I kept asking “just send me one more test message” I literally danced round the room when I started getting notifications. It hasn’t been working for about 4-5 months
