Not receiving app notifications on iPhone X

Notifications from Fitbit to my X Phone, texts, calls and events are now working. However, the Notifications icon at the bottom of the Fitbit app on my X phone, when openeded stopped receiving information June 18. I have reviewed messages from other Fitbit users to my comments about their postings, at this notification icon. I am confused why a variety of notices about achieving steps and over achieving steps stopped coming after June 18.

I'd like to help you out with this.

Based on customer feedback, we stopped showing notifications in the Notification Center. You can continue to receive these notifications as push notifications by turning on Push Notifications in the app under Account > Notifications. Additionally, ensure that Notifications is selected in your iPhone settings.

I have been asking for months about this change. A simple email on June 18, when you stopped providing the notifications would have been great.

If you quit sending notifications to the notifications center why haven’t you removed notifications center from the app?  I’ve had multiple updates to the app since this quit working but notifications center is still there apparently doing nothing.
