Notifications not clearing in the Fitbit app.

At the bottom of the app when I open it up it has Dashboard, Challenges, Guidance, Community, and Notifications.  Well, the notification has a red dot, which I assume is that I have notification or message.  When I go there, it shows nothing after April 2 of last year.  So not sure how to get it to update or get rid of that red dot.  I thought when you went to notifications it would automatically take the red dot off.  It just bugs me to keep seeing it.  Any ideas?

Lots of problems. Took forever to download the 'Ionic', that's what I have. If you see my username, Ionicprblms, its safe to deduce that I have an ionic.

  1. Then, the real fun. The Ionic was always loosing connection to my Bluetooth and to my phone's wifi connectivity.
  2. Now the **ahem** notifications is locked. I can't clear it.
  3. Now I got to learn how to uninstall and re-install.
  4. There's NO store to go to get service. The kids at the 'Best Buy' electronic store don't know anything about a fitbit but can give lots of help on pcs and iphones.

This is crazy to make a list or steps of 'what to do' in the event things <<freeze>> up or can't clear the notifications.

Hello @SunsetRunner I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have come back and let us know more about this situation. I know you're experiencing issues with your Ionic but I would like to ask you to refrain from coarse language and try to keep the conversation civil.

Now, if you notice your Ionic is dropping the Bluetooth connection with your phone, I would like to ask you to enable All-day Sync by going to Account > Ionic. You will receive a pop-up asking to "pair" your Ionic, please do. This will make your Ionic maintain a constant connection between your phone and your watch. Note that it has been tested and confirmed that All-day Sync will not drain the battery on your phone or your watch faster than usual.

When it comes to the Notifications that got stuck in your Ionic, please restart your Ionic by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This will clear them.

When you mention uninstall and reinstall, are you referring to remove the Ionic from your account and setting it up again? If so, please note that you don't need to remove it from the account. Simply go to Account and tap on "Set up a New Device". Once you select Ionic, you will be asked to replace your current watch, replace it to continue the process.

Give these steps a try and if you're still having issues, please let us know!

I’ve tried uninstalling and re-installing multiple times. I even have gotten a new phone since this issue started. Nothing works. Do you guys have at least a timeframe on when this will be resolved? I’ve been seeing this for months and it drives me nuts.

I had this issue when I had an iPhone 8Plus and I am
unsure what OS version I had on that phone. I recently upgraded to iPhone
XR. On this phone I have iOS 12.3 and Fitbit app version 2.93.

I have an iPhone xr IOS 12.4 with a Fitbit app version 3.4

The last notification I received was in June 2019, also the red dot does not turn off.  How can I delete all the old notifications and begin receiving new ones?

Please could you change this In your app so it can be refreshed or cleared.

Not acceptable to have to reinstall.

Try and do more fixing and customer requests.

I've bought 3 of your watches and a set of scales..your customers would really value you if you did a bit more work in the customer service department.

Thanks Fitbit for what work you've done so far, and making a fun to use developing product.
