After reading many posts in the forums that say I cannot delete any notifications I understand that (though like everyone else, which I could). But besides that I’m left with a problem that’s been driving me crazy. My notifications show that I have a new notification and I don’t. I have systematically went back through hundreds of them to make sure they are all “read” and none of them are another color and I STILL have the blasted red dot in the bottom right over “notifications”. When I toggle to messages (I have none) then the red dot also appears in the top over “notifications” again. But I toggle back to that and the top one goes away. The bottom one is still there. Thoughts, please?. (while I think notifications are great - I’ve turned them OFF trying to be done with this nonsense)

Hello @pianoforte, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board.
I appreciate you have brought this to my attention and for letting me know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. As you have already turned off in-app Notifications, it's possible the app is not updating the information correctly, in which case I would like to suggest you the following:
I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

That had amazing potential, but fell short. Force shutting down did not help. So I logged out, shut down the phone, restarted the phone, logged in - same results. Then double checked each notification back to last August (it seems to end there) on both my iphone and ipad to make sure they were indeed all read. They were. Then I repeated the log out/phone off process on both the iphone and the ipad. Then turned them both on - logged in. Both still behaving the same way. Any other thoughts?

Hello @supermario10, thanks for joining the conversation, it's always a pleasure for me to welcome new members to the Fitbit Community.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. At this moment I don't have updates about this situation but I would like to request you a screenshot of the red dot you're seeing in your Notifications so I can forward it to our team. Additionally, go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Notifications and take a screenshot of what you're able to see here as well.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting to hear from you.

I’m having the same issue and I’ve tried all the above advice. I don’t have any new notifications since June, there are no notifications that are more recent.

Hello @TanyaB613, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board!
I appreciate you have taken the time to report this to us. Please note that this is not a but nor an issue, Since June 2018, we have removed step goal based Notifications as it was a feature heavily requested. You will now receive these Notifications as push Notifications on your phone and will no longer appear in the Notification tab in the Fitbit app.
I hope this clarifies the subject, thanks for your understanding. Have a great day.

Hello @MarcoGFitbit I am not sure I follow that sentence about it not being an issue. Nothing has changed. Still red dot under notifications and no new notifications. I have turned them off, so they no longer come in, but the dot remains.

As you can see, I have no notifications in there but the red dot remains. This has nothing to do with the list of notifications themselves...I'm all for receiving the notifications on my phone and I don't care if they come up here. But it seems that many other people are having the same issue of the red dot showing up and not going away even though I don't have a single notification.

I’m also having issues with receiving notifications of any updates badges I’ve earned

Hello @supermario10, @pianoforte and @TanyaB613, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply.
I appreciate you have come back and added a screenshot to your reply. I sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding, what is not an issue at this point is not receiving Notifications in the Fitbit app, as these only come through as push Notifications to your phone.
Now, if you're still seeing the red dot and have no Notifications pending, my best recommendation is to uninstall the app, restart your phone and install it back. Make sure to sync your Fitbit device before to avoid losing any information.
@TanyaB613, if you're not getting Notifications when you receive a badge, in the Fitbit app, please go to Account > Notification and make sure "New Badges" is enabled. If it is, disable it, log out from the app, log back in and enable it again.
I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I'm having this problem too, it started just this week. I have tried all your suggestions, uninstalling, etc. to no avail, still a red dot showing up, no new messages. Very irritating!

I also have this problem with the red dot in the app showing a new notification when there are no new notifications (just like the screenshot that @supermario10 posted above). I have done the suggested steps and deleted the app, restarted the phone, and reinstalling the app but the red notification dot still shows up. This problem just started for me in the last few days. Not a big deal but a little annoying.

I am having the same issues as everyone else. The red dot won’t go away and I’m not getting cheer or taunt messages. His only started last couple of days after I installed the latest update. I’ve tried all the advice to reset, reinstall etc.
Hoping this can be rectified soon with another update maybe?!

Same problem. Red dot from messages from over 6 months ago. So annoying. Hope this gets resolved before I go to an Apple Watch. Ugh.

The issue was fixed for me for a long time and is now back. This problem plus the fact that I rarely receive notifications on my watch, I too am frustrated and ready to move on to an Apple Watch...

Same problem and tried all the steps. Has only started happening recently - either due to app update or iOS update is my guess. My suspicion is that I may *have* messages, as indicated by the red dot, but they are just not showing up in the app? I do still seem to get friend requests. But bottom line - every single time I open the app I have a red dot, but no new messages showing up.

Same problem. Notification “red dot” with no other indication of activity. No pop ups saying I’ve received replies or friend requests. Just that stupid red dot. This has been going on for more than a week now. I’ve even gone so far as to log out, delete the app, reboot my phone and reinstall the app. Several times!
I have three messages that are 43 days old I suspect should have dropped off right about the time this started. Thirty days is the cutoff isn’t it? Maybe this is the problem?
Its driving me bonkers,
