Odd calorie calculation for exercise

So I just kind of started messing around with the Fitbit app itself.  I have my charge 2 ordered and on it's way.

Anyway.  I decided to log my Sunday treadmill workout today.  Just a light hour of walking with a few light sprints.  So I go put in the numbers manually.  It estimates 375 calories burned for the workout...  ok that seems reasonable maybe a bit low as I weigh about 280lbs or so.  But as I was fiddling with it I noticed the calorie estimation updates oddly.  3.0 miles in an hour, 375cal, 3.1 - 375, 3.2 - 375, 3.3 - 375, 3.4 - 375, 3.5 - 460!?  Like... what?

Its legit rounding to the nearest mile...

4.0 - 460, 4.1 - 460, 4.2 - 460, 4.3 - 460, 4.4 - 460, 4.5 - 999!?

Hello @Webstar, thanks for joining us, it's great to have you on board! Smiley Happy

As you mentioned you're still expecting to receive your tracker, calories burned in manually logged in exercises are calculated using your BMR. The app will give you an estimate of the calories burned based on your personal information (weight, height, gender) and it's possible it will not update the calories until the very end of it.

Once you receive your tracker, please try a treadmill exercise once again and check if the calories burned, they should update correctly as the app it's adding your real-time heart rate to the equation.

I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else I can do for you, please keep me posted! Smiley Wink
