Only synching with MFP when I disconnect and reconnect !

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I log food via MFP and use Fitbit Charge HR to register my activity - I have done so for a long time with everything seemingly functioning perfectly.

However it seems that lately (especially starting late in the afternoon each day) the only way I can get the Fitbit app (IOS) to synchronize with MFP and register my food is to disconnect and reconnect Fitbit app in MFP .......... more or less everytime I have logged food.

It is immensely frustrating and does not benefit my confidence in the Fitbit app at all.

Am also having trouble with mfp data linking to Fitbit app. Removing link and relinking hasn't helped for me. Problem started last Friday 4/28/2017.  Seems to capture data from one meal but then missing other(s).  I sent a report in for help as well as one to mfp. I was able to include screenshots with my report to mfp.

Hi Karin

That sounds like absolutely identical to what I am experiencing - I don´t have a complete picture of the timeframe, but since late April sounds about right !

Hopefully Fitbit will come up with a solution, because it is quite annoying to say the least ! 🙂

Thanks for your reply !

They just sent me instructions about unlinking/relinking. I'll try it when I get home but when I tried it last night it didn't have any effect . I even uninstalled both apps and reinstalled. That didn't help either. Today it captured breakfast but nothing since.

Yeah, as I wrote in my first post, I keep disconnecting and reconnecting (aka unlinking/relinking) and best case scenario the app registers my last added meal either partly or completely. But next time I add a meal the scenario repeats itself.

I think there is a bigger issue at large than what normally can be dealt with with the usual "tricks" 🙂

Anyway it is just not good enough that we have to unlink/relink everytime we are adding meals in order for the sync to work correctly ........... that is not a workable long term solution.

Thank you for keeping me posted !! I am wondering how many others are out there experiencing the same problem.

I am having the same issue. Not sure if it's Fitbit or MFP

I am having the same issue even after disconnecting and reconnecting. It shows some of my food that is logged in MFP but not everything.

After advising Fitbit support that I'm still having issues even after the successful "revoking access/relinking" to mfp that they recommended, they advised that I bring it up with advance support @ mfp. Since it's not clear where the problem resides, mfp or Fitbit, I had sent both a trouble email. Fitbit support got back to me right away, several times. I'm still waiting to hear from mfp.

One work around I did find successful was the following:
Today's entries were only off by 1 item, a snack from earlier in the day. So tonight rather than go thru the relinking process, I simply deleted the item from mfp and reentered it in mfp along with my dinner items. The new entries took. The calories now match in both apps.
We'll see what tomorrow brings.

pbrDK,

The response I got from Fitbit mostly just had me go thru the "revoke access" process from the Fitbit side and relink. After telling them that this only helped temporarily and that the problem still persisted they directed me to mfp for help.

As I said in my original reply, I had sent mfp a trouble message at same time as Fitbit. I finally got a response from mfp. (They had tried to reply via email before but their messages had bounced back. Odd as my profile info is all correct).  Anyway, their message of May 4, said they were aware of the problem and were working on it. I've noticed an improvement these last couple of days, hopefully, you have, too.

That sounds hopeful - at least it is good to know, that one of the parties have reckognized that there is a problem, and that they are working on a solution.

And you are right - I have also noticed a slight improvement over the last days. The problem still comes up, but not so often as before, where it was about 75% of the time.
